Even if going for Cesc was impossible, they just made themselves look worse, by trying go lowball Bartha for a world class player. Just do the damn business, and meet the valuation.

Kudos to the scouse for doing just that.

Notif you're Newcastle, if Ashley can't get his price we just move onto the next French player, which actually translates to not signing anyone at all. Despite our clear need for more attacking options I highly doubt we'll get another.

Still need another attacker though and if possible cover for Lucas.

Apparently we bid £12m for the young Lille kid. At this point, I don't even care. Kinnear is going to relegate Newcastle

I think this is the end of the road for Skrtel. He'll be moving on now that we're bringing in 2 center backs. Ilori is an interesting one, beat Ronaldo's Sporting sprint record. His speed would certainly allow us to play higher up the pitch. Apparently got quite a bit of technique as well.

The attacker is needed possibly, but honestly could wait until the Jan window. Rather do that than spunk come cash on a sub par player, something we don't seem to be doing anymore. I too would like a back up to Lucas, but I'm also still not convinced that's a super pressing need. With Gerrard, Allen, and even Hendo being able to fill in. Frankly my 11 would go something like this (once Suarez comes back)....

          -------------Sturridge-----------

          Aspas-----Coutinho------Suarez

          --------Gerrard---Lucas---------

          Jose---Dagger---Sakho---Johnson

          -------------Mignolet------------

Suarez and Aspas swapping throughout the match. That allows us to have Hendo, Allen, Borini, Sakho/Toure, Cissokho, Alberto, Jones/Given on the bench. (That doesn't even include my boy Kelly)

I think Aspas is going to have a huge year, from what I've seen he's got a huge bag of tricks. I might want someone to possibly replace Aspas/Borinin/Alberto in the matchday squad, but right now I don't want us to waste money. If we bring in Moses on loan so be it, but lets not get rash.

Not much in it. No real cutting edge, and RVP more concerned with letting all the Liverpool players know hes won a title and how good he is.

Swans away, Chavs home, and Liverpool away = 4 points. Not horrible.

My first real gripe with Moyes though has come about. Kagawa not even on the bench? Zaha not even on the bench and Young getting a start?

I hope Moyes signs a lifetime contract with United. Dude can't win at Anfield.

Seriously though, our defense was spectacular. Our midfield of Lucas and Gerrard played well also. Where it feel apart for us was when Aspas and Coutinho were on the ball. Both gave it away too often and failed to find Sturridge. Could Hendo have ran and tracked back more? People who wrote him off are eating a lot of crow right now.

Also lol at Chelsea for moving Sturridge on. They're hurting for a player of his ilk right now.

Good loss for Tottenham. That will give Wenger the confidence to not buy anyone decent.

100 million spent, still the 2nd best in North London.

                                Spurs gonna be Spurs.

I do enjoy the fellas on Super Sunday finally highlighting what I've been saying for a long time now... Welbeck just doesn't merit his place in the United 11. For someone playing so advanced he simply doesn't score near enough to be starting for a club like United.
