Thats what I don't get. If something happens during the course of the game, like a vicious check or Andy Shaw running into the goalie, its seen as being more malicious than a guy just punching his opponent into the ice or Weber slamming Zetterberg's head against the glass.
 
Not saying the system is perfect, but we all know star players get the benefit. The NHL doesn't need it star players out of playoff games, so the wrath is handed down to the 4th liners. It isn't a perfect system, and it does suck, but it is what it is right now. Just have to hope something seriously stupid doesn't happen.

NEW YORK -- Ottawa Senators forward Zenon Konopka has been fined $2,500, the maximum allowed under the Collective Bargaining Agreement, and his club fined $10,000 for Konopka's conduct prior to Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Quarter-Final at New York on Saturday. April 14, the National Hockey League announced today.

Konopka was fined for his verbal abuse directed at a New York Rangers player conducting a live television interview nearby during pre-game warm-ups.

The Konopka fine money goes to the Players' Emergency Assistance Fund, while the club fine goes to the NHL Foundation.

Oh and Konopka got $2500 and the team got another $10000 for him yapping at the start of the game.

Apparantly he was yelling stuff at Brian Boyle while he was doing an interview with CBC and the league didn't like it lol.
 
Finally game time. I don't think we'll go back to MSG at anything worse than 2-2 but we're well capable of winning them both.
