1st Round: Ottawa Senators vs. NY Rangers

The Sens are right where they deserve to be right now. We have only been able to dominate them in 10 minute spells. We need more offence from our top players or this series will be 7 games and who knows the outcome.

Rangers and like-minded fans are getting trolled hard by Ottawa at this point...

Both the Rangers and the Penguins seemed to have gone "all in" for this fighting crap, and its probably going to cost both teams the series. It might even be the same with the Blues-Sharks series.

It seems to me that the experienced underdogs like San Jose and Philly are goading the opponent into fighting, while relative newcomers New York and St. Louis are taking the bait against inferior competition.

I guess my point is I don't see what Pittsburgh, New York, and St. Louis are gaining by turning each game into a free-for-all.

I don't see what the Rangers have done wrong either. We're not Vancouver, we can win by being aggressive. In fact if we match Ottawa in one of their best attributes then our defensive depth and top skill will take over.

What exactly have New York or St Louis lost from these alleged distraction tactics?

Rangers have gone "all-in" all season on fighting, and they were first in the East. They know what they are doing.

But there were no real fights in this last game. The Rangers just got tired and couldn't protect Lundqvist often enough.

Rangers, at worst, should be up 3-1. But they aren't.

Torts is smoking crack. He compared the Neil hit to Torres.. lol. Not even close. Neils hit might have been a little late but he kept his elbows tucked in, did not leave his feet. That kind of hit doesn't really bother me too much. To me that is a good clean hockey hit. Gotta keep your head up. Neil wasn't skating around with elbow extended looking to kill.

Onto more pressing matters, the Rangers stepped it up for the biggest games all throughout the regular season so it's about time they do it here and win two fucking consecutive games. With Hagelin back, he should go straight onto a re-united top line with Richards and Gaborik who need to start doing some scoring asap. Richards may have a league wide reputation as "clutch" but he'll have to earn it all over again with the Rangers, starting tonight.

Spezza is asking for Canada to get behind the Senators now that the Canucks are out. lulz. No one likes their boring team and I hope a bunch of rangers fans take over Ottawa and produce another home game for the rags.

That's a good start. If Richards, Callahan and Lundqvist fire on all cylinders at the same time we can dominate anyone. We really should be expecting to advance from this series with a home game 7.
