The ball is FLYING off Wright's bat. His second HR of the season was a total BOMB.

Dickey pitched well, even if he walked 4 guys.

And the BULLPEN! Parnell and Rauch were perfect. Francisco gave up a couple hits but got a pair of strikeouts for his second save!

2-0!!!

Plus, Kirk had a couple hits in his MLB debut. Excited about this guy.
 
Jair fucking sucks and Fredi is a moron. Wright looks pretty good but the two pitches he hit hard today were nothing balls, low 80s with no movement that just sat belt high. Couldn't even tell if they were supposed to be breaking balls or fastballs, because again, Jurrjens fucking sucks.

Anyway, good job on the first two games. Hope we can salvage a win tomorrow, but we are just bad right now.

I don't see that from him. A lot of people like to call him lazy but I think that's mainly because we have a lot of racists in the fanbase, and he's more of a glider than a runner and the game comes so naturally to him.

The main problem I'm seeing from him so far is that he struggles catching up to even average fastballs on the inner half right now. I thought the problem was fixed in spring training but it's crept back up. I think because of his long arms it will always be a hole for him, but nobody really had the balls to test him there until the shoulder injury last season acted as a huge neon sign for the league.

He actually had a good game today, two walks and a triple, but he struck out when it mattered the most so that's what people will harp on. He's still a great fielder and base runner, so I still love watching him play and hope the bat comes back around. But a lot of the more ignorant fans are going to start to get really impatient.

LHP Darin Gorski made his 2012 debut in AA last night: 6.0 IP, 1 H, 3 BB, 7 SO. A great start coming off his great season at A-ball St. Lucie last year.

Jeff Paternostro reports that he touched 92, but it sounds like he was more regularly 90-91 mph with his fastball, while his changeup was filthy. Gorski had an outstanding 2011 in the Florida State League driven by better fastball velocity, and sharper off-speed stuff and it’s nice that it appears to have carried over to 2012. I had Gorski ranked as the #13 prospect in the system entering this year.

The Mets lineup is not half-bad this year. The pitching is still a question mark, provided they don't get to pitch against shit lineups like ours all year, but there is plenty of firepower to be found from the Mets hitters. Duda and Davis are gonna be great complements to Wright all year, and Tejada will give you 60-70% of what Reyes did.

Yeah we just won't have the SB threat...we have some guys who can have high OBP's like Tejada, Wright, Duda, Davis in there, and we have pretty good pop.

I really think Johan coming out and pitching as well as he did set up the series on a high for us. I think we rode it out and Dickey, Niese pitched well in their starts. I still don't trust Pelfrey and despite Gee, who I feel has good stuff, he has to put it together...and the pen still is a question mark though they pitched well this weekend.

I didn't know the Braves had so many lefty bats...damn.,..
 
I scooped up johan off waivers this morning, not real sure why someone would drop him for jair jurrjens, but I aint complainin.
 
We look good up there at the plate, sans Bay and Ike. Hudgens has worked some magic this off-season. Bay needs to GTFO or platoon with Captain Kirk.
 
4-0 boys. CAPTAIN KIRK hit a bomb and Pelfrey looked serviceable. Highly doubt he keeps it up all season long.
 
Ridiculous. Wright jammed a pinky sliding into a base last night. He's not playing tonight or tomorrow, thought process is they rather sit him now instead of having it develop into something serious.

Cedeno will get the start at 3rd tonight with Turner at 1st since Davis is sitting with a lefty starting.
