Rumors already flying that Lynch is trying to be talked into staying by current players, Phillip Daniels, his mom, his g/f etc.

Here is the scoring system for the Blue-Gold Game this weekend and a nice write up by Keith Arnold(as usual)

Brian Kelly met with the media after the penultimate practice of spring, and one of his first orders of business was breaking down the rules for the 83rd annual Blue-Gold Game. With the depth chart a bit thin at positions like cornerback and wide receiver, after two seasons of a traditionally formatted game, scoring will be broken down between offense and defense.

“Because we’re short of numbers at the cornerback position, and in particular at the wide receiver position, we do want to protect some guys,” Kelly explained. “If we were to go strictly blue versus gold, you’d have guys like Zack Martin who would have to play four quarters. I’m not interested in that. I know what he can do. Tyler Eifert would have to play a lot. I’m not interested in having him out there the whole game. Manti would have to play quite a bit.”

Still, for those feeling a little cheated with a non-traditional format, this year’s game will actually be the first time in the Kelly era where there’s actually a chance to take stock of what the Irish have. For the first time, all four quarterbacks will be live. The defense is free to send pressure and mix coverages. And while no special teams will be played fully live, the deck will be stacked evenly between both units.

“We’re going to go offense versus defense, and in that system, we’ll try to have it ones versus ones,” Kelly said. So A goes against A, B goes against B, and it’s not ones versus twos. We’re trying to balance it the best that we can. So if it’s A versus A, offense versus defense, it’s not strictly ones versus ones. Then the second offense comes out, it’s not all twos. We’re mixing and matching players.”

After twenty-plus years of spring games, Kelly has decided that simplicity in scoring is the best way to go. The offense will earn points the good old fashioned way — with touchdowns and field goals. The defense will earn theirs through turnovers and stops. For those worried about a complicated formula that necessitates a calculator, there’s no bonus points for sacks or tackles-for-loss, but a simple equation for the defense.

“I’ve really looked at all the scoring systems I’ve used, and we’re going to make this a team scoring system,” Kelly explained. “There will not be individual points for sacks or tackles for loss or pass breakups or any of that stuff. We’re going to talk about stops and turnovers for the defense. Their points are earned by stops and turnovers.”

Special teams will be limited in the game, with punts being fair caught and all drives starting on the 35 yard line. There will be no block attempts on field goals or extra points. The first half will be standard timing, while the second half will feature a running clock. The teams will break 15 minutes for halftime.

Here’s a quick breakdown of the scoring system for the 83rd Blue-Gold game.

OFFENSIVE POINTS:
6 points for a touchdown (1 point for PAT kicks, no rush allowed).
3 points for a field goal.

DEFENSIVE POINTS:
4 points for a defensive stop before offense crosses the 50.
2 points for a defensive stop after offense crosses the 50.
7 points for a turnover before the offense crosses the 50.
3 points for a turnover after the offense crosses the 50.
1 point for holding the offense to a field goal.

I doubt it happens, and I don't have access to the threads over there to see who is posting what. I'll be in the Bend this weekend so I will try and talk to some people on campus there but they are in the Ath Dept and aren't so much in tune with the rumors about a players g/f. Lynch is going to be taking some visits this weekend down in Florida though

I'd be shocked if there's one for the BG game. If there is one installed, it won't be kept quiet for long considering how fast pictures surfaced on the internet when they upgraded the old boards a couple of years ago.

The trons won't be there for the BG game.

The were doing some drainage work and some sod work as well.

If the trons come it will be over the summer.

I'm still hoping for the hybrid turf as well like what they have in Lambeau

NOTRE DAME, Ind. - The University of Notre Dame will celebrate 125 years of Fighting Irish football (1887-2012) with a series of "Strong and True" events throughout the 2012 football season.

The University last month introduced a special 125 logo that will be utilized throughout the year on all signage identifying elements of the campaign. The logo will be seen on sideline apparel worn by Irish players and coaches this season.

The "Strong and True" slogan -- taken from the University's alma mater, "Notre Dame, Our Mother" -- will be interwoven through various segments of the NDFB125 program.

Although the celebration will last all fall, the Sept. 22 Notre Dame-Michigan game at Notre Dame Stadium (7:30 p.m. EDT on NBC Sports) will feature special recognition events based on Irish football history dating back to the first Notre Dame game in 1887 against Michigan. The Notre Dame-Michigan relationship qualifies as the original and oldest Football Bowl Subdivision rivalry.

Legendary names from Notre Dame's football past will be back on campus throughout the season to take part in the celebration. The previously-launched logo will be seen on signage and banners in and around Notre Dame Stadium.

A Web site devoted to 125 years of Irish football has been created at 125.nd.edu. It will be launched Thursday, with three "Strong and True" moments featured. Then, beginning Thursday, Aug. 30 (the day the Notre Dame football team arrives in Ireland for its 2012 season opener against Navy), 125 "Strong and True" moments will be released (one per day) via digital media, along with photo and video galleries.

Former Notre Dame players and fans will be encouraged to engage and participate via the 125 site (as well as social media) by sharing stories, photos and videos of their "Strong and True" experiences.

Stay tuned throughout the spring and summer for additional details relative to the NDFB125 celebration.

Here are specifics of other elements of the 125-year celebration:





The Official Notre Dame Football Yearbook will feature a 125-year Irish football timeline including all-new prose and images.
Each of the Notre Dame football game programs (including the version for the Notre Dame-Miami game in Chicago) will feature a specially-designed, pullout insert devoted to 125 years of Notre Dame football.
Covers of the football games programs will feature original art by nationally-known sports artist Tim Cortes from Duluth, Minn. Cortes' work will highlight the NDFB125 celebration.
Game tickets for the 2012 home season will include both the NDFB125 logo as well as throwback looks based on tickets from past seasons.
The Leprechaun Legion, the official student group liaison to the athletics department, will coordinate a celebration of student traditions over 125 years of Notre Dame football.
The Notre Dame Licensing Office is working with a variety of its licensees to produce commercial products that include the NDFB125 logo--including everything from pins and pennants to apparel and mini-helmets. Some products will be available beginning this weekend in conjunction with the annual Blue-Gold Game.
The 2012 version of "The Shirt" -- to be unveiled Friday -- will feature the NDFB125 logo below the back collar.
A special NDFB125 commemorative coin will be produced and utilized throughout the 2012 season for pre-game coin tosses. A version of the collectable coin will be available at retail.
Legends of Notre Dame, located just south of Notre Dame Stadium, will display signage related to the celebration and also will feature branded, seasonal menu items.
Centerplate, the University's official athletics concessionaire, will include the 125 logo on commemorative drink cups utilized throughout the 2012 football season.
The South Bend Convention and Visitors Bureau will join in the celebration with a variety of programs -- including streets renamed during the football season in honor of great names from Irish football history.

Additional information on other aspects of the NDFB125 celebration will be announced as details are confirmed.
