Apparently Anzalone cancelled the visit because of his dad's work schedule and the trip was to talk to admissions about getting everything set for early enrollment. He didn't want to take that trip/have that discussion w/o his dad.

Anzalone made a statement last night:

First off, I want to thank the coaches who have been supportive of me throughout my recruitment," Anzalone wrote. "There have been many highs and lows but when it came down to it I had to find the best fit for me. I have developed close relationships with many GREAT coaches, but at the end of the day I had to chose one school. I have been committed to ND since July. With that, I want to reaffirm my commitment to Notre Dame and shut down my recruitment completely with all other schools. God bless!"

Max Redfield decommits from USC

"Going back on my word is something I never imagined doing and it hurts me to do it but in the end I feel is necessary to do in order to decide what college I want to go to and in the end what path I want to take in life," Redfield wrote. "For many different reasons I am choosing to decommit from USC and re-open recruiting. I am sorry to the people I might let down or hurt in this decision but it is a decision that is crucial for my future athletically, academically, and spiritually. I will not be accepting calls for interviews, quotes etc."

USC will remain in the picture for Redfield, but will be joined by ND, Washington, Oregon and LSU. Redfield is rated as the No. 3 safety in the 2013 class by Rivals.com and No. 5 by 247Sports.com.

2015 QB Brett Rypien (Spokane, Wash./Shadle Park) just landed an offer from # WashingtonState. It is his first offer.
Always great to see legacies offered. Even better when they are as good as Rypien. By 2015 he will be at least a 4 star and I won't be surprised if he is a 5 star. Let's just hope Leach gets the ship righted so no matter what he wants to follow in his uncle's footsteps

Starting to get very excited about this class as we near NSD. It's not a very star-studded group for LSU but it's deep and has the potential to add one or two more difference makers.

Tim Williams and Kendell Beckwith are the two biggest in-state targets who remain, would be ecstatic to land either guy, doubt we end up with both. And Ricky Seals-Jones is probably headed to aTm, which scares the bejeesus out of me.

This class for Notre Dame could end up disgustingly good on the defensive side of the ball.

Could be one of Richt's best classes in his tenure if the NSD decisions finally roll the right way. For a long time now the classes have been a little on the short end because Richt will always save spots for some of the interested NSD recruits, yet has no backup plan for when those fall through. Doesn't look like that will be an issue this year with spots filling up fast.

Give me Tunsil, Adams, and one of T.Johnson/T.Crowder/J.Woods/K.Griffin(longshot). The rest would be gravy. I'm sure they will also hold a spot for Foster, but at this point, I don't really care if he comes or not.
