My point all along is that pro wrestling behavior existed long before Brock entered the sport. Fake hatred to sell fights is prowres 101.

Who is even saying this really? I'd like to see a handful of quotes from people that are saying Brock is bringing WWE into MMA for the first time, I've honestly not seen anyone say that. But, regardless it doesn't matter and is beside the point. Fact is that's the past that Brock has, so when he does that type of shit that is what's going to be attributed to him. So, he can either embrace that, as he has so far, or pull away from it as Lashley has.

I think alot of people are just annoyed that a former pro wrestler, of all people, has made it look so easy. That's stupid, because he's a fighter now. He's no more a pro wrestler than Rich Franklin is a math teacher, or Randy Couture is an actor.

He said that to be funny, he knew he needed to finish the fight until the ref stopped it. Either way you're still comparing someone with a clean track record to a guy who's acted out in 2/4 of his fights in the UFC. That's why it's not a double standard. They're two entirely different situations anyway. I'm sure if Hendo got in Bispings face and continued to talk shit then peoples perception of him would have changed a bit.

Obviously bringing up the WWE and using the lame "this isnt scripted" is something everyone is doing to Lesnar (and Lashley), and he's clearly offended by it, because he dosen't do the "kiss and make up" that guys like Nick Diaz are famous for after they are finished working the marks.

when I brought up that 'this isnt scripted' it was towards the post fight antics against Mir and setting up a show next week, you dont have to do that in MMA, rematches and thrid fights are rare, its not like he has to get everyone fired up for another match with Mir next week like in the WWE

Of course Brock did not bring pro wrestling antics to the sport, Tito, Ken, Nick, etc...have all done it, but usually its done after the fight and you show some respect, Tito probably one of the only guys to now show respect with his gravedigger, but he also catches the most flack

but Brock is easily the biggest pro wrestling star to get into MMA and succeed, ther spotlight is on him, so getting in Mirs face, slipping off the fans will of course get that label, I thought the post fight interview was funny anyways, but he is going to get called on it more than the average guy, plus he did it at UFC 100, the biggest show the UFC has ever had and it had actually main stream coverage

its kind of like when Kimbo got put on CBS and the main stage, all the media was saying 'Kimbo is brining streetfighting to MMA!', lol, MMA has always had streetfighters, but Kimbo would be the biggest rep for streetfighting, the difference with Kimbo is he was humble, didnt play up the street part after fights and actually gained some fans

As for this idea that he isnt following some time honored tradition of "respect", it happens all the time. Just a few weeks ago, Mayhem Miller (another pro wrestiling inspired goofball) and Jacare jawed at each other after their fight, and I didnt see Dan Henderson helping up Bisping or the two sharing a precious moment...even after Bisping woke up.

And you and Mamba keep bringing up variations of his superstar wrestling status hoding him to a higher standard, bigger spotlight, etc....all true, and all the more reason its a fucking DOUBLE standard, when aside from the flipping off the fans, he does nothing new, and in reality, did almost nothing Hendo didnt do an hour earlier.

It is not a double standard because Dan didnt do any of those things, know way to tell what the backlash would have been

I dont really have any problem with it either.. but admitting post fight that he did it on purpose is pretty classless. I dont think any less of Dan for doing it, but I dont think any less of Brock for doing what he did post-fight either.

But Brock DOES want that kind of reaction.. he enjoys playing the heel. Which really makes all the arguing about it pointless anyways, but there definitely is a double standard there as of now.

he was a pro wrestling star first, it was the main event of the UFC's biggest show, he is seen as just the bigger, stronger guy and he comes off as a dick in half of his fights now

I didnt like when Frank kicked Phil off after he choked him out, but that was because Phil was on his blown knee and he was in pain, but Frank in the past usually shows a lot of respect after a fight, so he can get a pass on that one and has been in the game a long time
