Keep to the outside of the fight (try not to get surrounded), always be ready to counter, and try to get critical hits with one well timed strike/counter instead of mashing the buttons. Also, the instant takedowns make the larger crowds much easier to deal with.

the X+O (or A+B) takedown is really, really helpful. Unlock that as soon as you get it.

And yes, Jay, Calender Man is tied to the real time calender. Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas...etc.
I'm hunting the mystery man now (It's Azrael...). I'm not sure if his appearances are tied to events in the story, but he's not where he's supposed to be right now. I found him 3 times so far...

I really like the loading screen when you start up the game again showing you your current progress in the main story, makes it easy to remember where you were at.

I agree. I love some of the puzzles, but I feel like it's going to be a grind and a half trying to fucking get the Riddler hostage missions done with just because there are SO MANY FUCKING TROPHIES.

There are still 4 side mission plot-lines that aren't available to me yet and I am 42% through the main story. Does anyone know if they will become apparent later on or if I am missing them?

0% chance I waste my time trying to get them all.
I feel like it was a waste in Batman: AA when I just did it to 100% it, but here the story possibilities seem fucking awesome. I am compelled to do it because I want to see more of the Riddler hostage situations.

I'll play through the whole story and a bunch of the side missions but I'll never be a 100% complete kind of gamer...I'm hoping to be done this by the time Uncharted 3 comes out so I can trade it in.
EDIT: Also, I just got into the Iceberg Lounge to face the Penguin, but does anyone else take it kind of personally when these bad guys challenge you? haha.
