Yeah, we'll see how we do against a real team. Moevao was terrible. He was so inaccurate, missing open receivers left and right. I thought it was realistic though so it was kind of cool to see since I'm used to seeing like 75-80% accuracy from 09. I tend to stick with Corso plays but I'm not sure if I'll be able to do that this year since it seems like my entire playbook is runs and playactions. I like to just dropback and pass occasionally.

Beating #17 BYU 42-14[/size]

[size=-5]OU QB Sam Bradford torched the BYU defense for 364 yards and four touchdowns.[/size]​

Norman, OK - It was BYU's chance to make a statement for the Mountain West, but it would be Oklahoma that made the statement on a wet night at Gaylord-Oklahoma Memorial Stadium. BYU head coach Bronco Mendenhall clearly did not have a team that was ready to play in this kind of atmosphere as QB Max Hall threw an interception on his 2nd pass of the game. Then on Oklahoma's first play from scrimmage of the 2009 season, QB Sam Bradford hit WR Jameel Owens who broke a tackle and was gone for a 43-yard touchdown to put OU on top 7-0 just like that.

BYU would later try a flea flicker but Hall under pressure would be picked off by OU SS Quinton Carter who took it all the way back for pick-six to put the Sooners ahead 14-0. But the Cougars would finally find some success on offense but a 35-yard field goal attempt would go wide left for BYU. In the 2nd quarter, Bradford continued the onslought as he would hit WR Adron Tennell in the end zone from eight yards out. Then on the Sooners' next possession, HB DeMarco Murray would tack on a 1-yard touchdown to make it 28-0.

The Sooners looked like they were about to score again before the end of the half, but Bradford uncharacteristically was intercepted in the red zone. Then BYU HB Harvey Unga finally put the Cougars on the scoreboard when he got the handoff, spun past a host of Sooner defenders and found some running room for a change. Downfield he stiff-armed a Sooner defender to the ground and housed it for a 71-yard touchdown run to make it 28-7 OU at halftime.

In the 3rd quarter, BYU was able to hold Oklahoma scoreless, but unfortunately for the Cougars, they did not score either. Bradford would increase the Sooner lead when he found his FB in the flat who raced in for an 18-yard touchdown to put Oklahoma up 35-7. But Bradford was not done as he would lob a nice touch pass between the BYU secondary right into the hands of WR Adron Tennell who fought forward for a 31-yard touchdown reception to make it 42-7 OU. With under two minutes left in the game, BYU QB Max Hall hit HB Harvey Unga on a short connection, but Unga broke loose and housed it for a 56-yard touchdown. But Oklahoma still thumped BYU 42-14.

USC landed what is considered the top QB in the country today, Bryan Roberson, who stands at 6'6" and weighs in at 212 lbs. He is a gifted athlete who is very tough to bring down with decent speed to make plays with his legs. Though he will need to refine his passing skills. Pete Carroll will have his work cut out for him to get him to play in his pro-style offense. Roberson had shown interest in Nebraska and Oregon State but quickly made a decison to stay in his home state and become a Trojan.

Chris: Welcom to the Horseshoe here in Columbus for a huge showdown between #4 USC and #6 Ohio State. (crowd cheers) Well, this game has not gotten the same kind of hype it got last year when these teams were ranked #1 and #2, but actually this will likely be a better contest today. USC will look to help restore the prestige of the Pac-10 as the two teams that were supposed to compete with the Trojans for the conference title, Oregon and Cal both lost last week. So if USC can get by the Buckeyes today, their path looks pretty to the BCS title looks pretty smooth from here on out. However, the Buckeyes are looking for revenge after the beating they took last year in the Coliseum.

Both teams are missing some of their key players from last year as the Trojans look to move on without Mark Sanchez, Rey Maualuga, Clay Matthews, and Brian Cushing just to name a few. While Ohio State will look to establish a running game without Chris "Beanie" Wells. Plus, James Laurinaitas is gone. But these teams should not be concerned as they just reload every year. Alright guys, ready for your picks?

Kirk: I am so excited for this game today. I want to see how Terrelle Pryor rebounds from a rather weak game against USC last year. Of course, he was just a freshman. Now we'll see what his made of. If he plays well, the Buckeyes should win. I think he will and Ohio State gets the win. (crowd cheers)

Lee: Of course, Kirk. We know you'd pick the Buckeyes. The biggest question I have about USC is their QB. Can Aaron Corp win a game like this for the Trojans. But with that stable of running backs, does it even matter. And yeah...the Trojans lost Matthews, Maualuga, and Cushing, but they still have Taylor Mays plus a whole bunch of other guys on that defense. This is going to be a close, hard-fought battle to the end but...wait for it...(Lee starts humming the USC fight song as he puts on the Trojan armor and helmet, and waves a sword at the crowd as the crowd boos hysterically) Go Trojans! Las Vegas, NV - After a 42-0 blowout over Jerry Glanville's Portland State Vikings, the Beavers faced their first game on the road against the UNLV Rebels. Oregon State has a long history of not doing well in non-conference road games but at least they were west of the Mississippi so it would likely go well for the Beavers. The Rebels were coming off of their own rout of an FCS team, Sacramento State, so it was difficult to know what to expect from both squads. By all accounts, UNLV was considered one of the weaker teams of the Mountain West.

Under the lights of Sam Boyd Stadium, UNLV actually started off the game fairly well offensively. Feeling confident at home, the Rebels marched right down the field against the Beaver defense until OSU DE Kevin Frahm pressured UNLV QB Omar Clayton into throwing an errant pass on third down. As a result, UNLV was forced into kicking a 47-yard field goal to score the first points against the Oregon State defense on the year to put the Rebels on top 3-0.

However, the Rebel lead did not last long as OSU WR Reggie Dunn, on the ensuing kick return, took it 85 yards to the house, giving Oregon State a 7-3 lead.

The Rebel fans were into the game until the kick return and suddenly the momentum was fully on the side of Oregon State. UNLV QB Omar Clayton would again find himself under pressure by DE Kevin Frahm, hurrying the pass which was intercepted by FS Suaesi Tuimaunei. The Beavers looked like they were in business to increase their lead until QB Lyle Moevao was drilled in the pocket, losing the ball to the turf, where it was picked up and returned inside the 20-yard line as HB Jacquizz Rodgers had saved a touchdown.

Inside the red zone, Rebel HB CJ Cox was able to get into the end zone on a 1-yard touchdown scamper to regain the lead for UNLV 10-7. Then on the ensuing kick return, Reggie Dunn was stripped of the football, which UNLV returned for a touchdown to suddenly put UNLV ahead 17-7.

Just as UNLV was about to kick the extra point, the whistles blew. The play was under review as the question was whether Dunn's knee was down. After a short delay, the booth had decided that the play stood as called. Touchdown UNLV. The momentum was completely now regained by UNLV as Oregon State went three-and-out. The Rebels now really had a chance to strike while they were hot. UNLV QB Omar Clayton would have all the time in the world to throw the ball but could not find anybody open. Finally, he was ready to throw when OSU DT Stephen Paea hit him in his throwing mostion as the ball went up in the air. That is where OLB Keaton Kristick snagged the football and returned it for a pick-six to cut UNLV's lead to 17-14. And that is where a wild 1st quarter came to an end.

To start the 2nd quarter, UNLV mounted a good looking drive, as the Beavers struggled in their coverage. QB Omar Clayton was throwing darts all over the field, leading the Rebels back into the red zone, but the drive would stall at the OSU 2-yard line. On fourth-and-goal, head coach Mike Sanford decided to go for it, where HB CJ Cox was tripped up just short of the goal line to prevent a touchdown and give OSU the ball.

A few short plays later, OSU HB Jacquizz Rodgers got to the outside, where he made a Rebel defender miss, and housed a 95-yard touchdown run to regain the lead for Oregon State 21-17.

Just like that, UNLV had gone from taking a possible ten-point lead to falling behind 21-17. On the ensuing possession for UNLV, the drive would come to a halt because of a DE Kevin Frahm sack on QB Omar Clayton. But Oregon State would also have their drive cut short when QB Lyle Moevao was sacked to force an OSU punt. Though the pressure of the Beaver front four continued to put pressure on Clayton as he was sacked by Frahm again, and this time he was hurt. So in came the backup QB Robert Rowe who was instantly picked off by CB Brandon Hardin to end the first half. At halftime the viewers would learn that Clayton would be out for the rest of the game with a strained bicep.

To start the 2nd half, Oregon State looked to get the passing game back on track as QB Lyle Moevao on a playaction rollout hooked up with TE Howard Croom for a 12-yard touchdown to the Beavers their biggest lead of the game 28-17.

The Rebels continued struggling to protect their QB as DE Ben Terry sacked Rowe for one of the five sacks for the Beavers in the game, forcing UNLV to punt. The Beavers would put another nice drive together where Moevao would throw a stike over the middle to WR Casey Kjos who would score a 24-yard touchdown to put Oregon State further ahead 35-17.

UNLV finally put a drive together as the 3rd quarter was coming to an end with the Rebels inside the red zone. But HB CJ Cox would be stuffed on 4th down as OSU had prevented UNLV from scoring in the red zone again. However, QB Lyle Moevao would make a grave mistake deep in his own territory, throwing in the flat to what he must have thought was an open tight end. Unfortunately for Moevao, UNLV OLB Starr Fuimaono was in the way and leaped up for an easy interception and walked in for a pick-six to keep the Rebels alive down only 35-23 with plenty of time.

To make matters worse for Oregon State, the Beavers would go three-and-out, taking very little time off the clock. With 5:10 remaining in the game, UNLV would attempt to go for it on 4th down on their own 45-yard line but QB Robert Rowe would sail a pass out of bounds. As a result, OSU HB Jacquizz Rodgers and later Ryan McCants would put the game away, running out the clock as the Beavers came back after a bit of adversity early on. Next week, Oregon State will look to get revenge against Cincinnati in Reser Stadium for a beating they took a few years back against the Bearcats in Cincinnati.

USC Comes Back to Win 28-27[/size]

Columbus, OH - On a cool, wet night at the Horseshoe, USC opened the game with a long 12-play drive with QB Aaron Corp and HB CJ Gable leading the way. However, Southern Cal would be forced to kick a 34-yard field goal when the drive stalled in the red zone to take a 3-0 lead. But Ohio State quickly responded when QB Terrelle Pryor, on third-and-nine in the red zone gunned it to the corner of the endzone where WR Ray Small made an over the shoulder catch for an 11-yard touchdown to put OSU in front 7-3.

On the ensuing possession, Gable already with quite a few carries was drilled, dislocating his elbow. The early diagnosis is that he will be out 11 weeks but with the stable of tailbacks the Trojans have, they may hardly notice. Despite the injury, the Trojans again found themselves in the red zone but were unable to punch it in to start the 2nd quarter. As a result, USC only scored a 28-yard field goal off of the 15-play drive to make it a one-point lead for the Buckeyes 7-6. Not long after the national audience learned that Gable's injury was serious, OSU HB Daniel Herron left the game with an abdominal strain that caused him to miss the rest of the game. Later, the Buckeyes would score off of an Aaron Pettrey 52-yarder that split the uprights to put Ohio State up 10-6. After a USC three-and-out, Pettrey would boot through a 51-yarder for the Buckeyes to give OSU a 13-6 lead.

With under a minute left to go in the first half, USC tried to get some points on the board but only ended up having Aaron Corp being intercepted by OSU FS Anderson Russell. With under :30 left, the Buckeyes had a chance to get a score before halftime. But inside the red zone, Terrelle Pryor was picked off by USC CB Kevin Thomas in the end zone. The half would end with Corp throwing up a prayer that was intercepted.

The Buckeye fans and players looked confident going into the second half but QB Terrelle Pryor would be sacked after holding on to the ball too long, leading to a three-and-out to start the half. Then USC HB Joe McKnight would tie up the game with an 8-yard touchdown scamper on a toss to the right, tying the game 13-13.

After another OSU three-and-out, USC QB Aaron Corp would connect with WR Ronald Johnson over the top for a 34-yard gain. USC was back in the red zone again but were stopped. On 4th-and-four, Pete Carroll decided to go for it, rather than trying to take the lead with a field goal. The gamble backfired as Corp was sacked. However, Ohio State continued its 3rd quarter struggles with another three-and-out. The Buckeyes were getting dominated by the Trojans' front four. As the third quarter was coming to an end, USC was back in the red zone again. But again the Buckeyes held strong in the red zone, forcing a USC 25-yard field goal to put USC back on top 16-13.

Finally, Ohio State broke out of its funk on defense, putting a drive together with HB Brandon Saine scoring on a three-yard touchdown scamper to regain the lead for the Buckeyes 20-16. The Trojans went right back to pounding the ball but HB Joe McKnight fumbled the ball. However, disaster was averted when the Trojans recovered the ball. Finally, the Buckeyes came up with a stop at the OSU 26-yard line, but Pete Carroll decided to go for the first down rather than attempting the field goal. This time the gamble paid off as Corp somehow hit his FB in coverage for a first down as a collective sigh grumbled across the stadium. However with 2:43 left to go in the game Corp was picked off by OSU CB Chimdi Chekwa. On the very next play, Pryor gunned it deep to WR Devier Posey who was able to get behind the coverage and make an over the shoulder catch in stride, housing it for a 61-yard touchdown to put the Buckeyes out in front 27-16 with only 2:35 left to go in the game.

The game all but appeared over however Corp would throw a pass for a first down and would be hit late as a flag flew. Roughing the passer was called and suddenly the Trojans were all the way at the OSU 15-yard line. Where Corp hit TE Anthony McCoy, who hurdled a defender for a 15-yard touchdown. HB Allen Bradford was stuffed on the two-point attempt so the Trojans would need another touchdown, behind 27-22 with 2:01 left to go.

USC attempted an onside kick, nearly recovered it but the Buckeyes fell on the ball. However, Ohio State would go three-and-out as Saine was stuffed on three straight rushes. So out came Aaron Pettrey who already had two 50-yarders on the day. Now he would have to try from 48 yards, but this time the ball hooked left on him as the stadium fell silent. The Trojans had the ball at their own 31-yard line with no timeouts. The sound went from being able to hear a pin drop to a thunderous roar as the fans knew what was on the line here. Corp was not affected by the noise or the situation as he calmly led the Trojans into Buckeye territory. With :51 left, Corp on a playaction roll out to the left found TE Anthony McCoy who shrugged off a tackle and scored on the 27-yard touchdown reception to amazingly put USC in front 28-27.

HB Allen Bradford was stuffed on the 2-point conversion so Ohio State could still win with a field goal. With :47 left, it would be all up to Terrelle Pryor at his own 45-yard line with all of their timeouts remaining to win the game for the Buckeyes. However, on the second play, Pryor threw up a floater that was intercepted by USC CB Shareece Wright to put this one away for the Men of Troy.

lol That was an incredible comeback by USC. I thought for sure the game was over when Chekwa got that interception with under three minutes. Then I really thought it was over when Pryor threw that 61-yard touchdown. That was by far one of the best games I've watched between AI vs AI. Chris: Welcome to Blacksburg where we will have a duel between the Big-12 and the ACC as #18 Nebraska takes on #6 Virginia Tech. (crowd cheers) The Hokies have already gotten a big win over Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide. Virginia Tech could very well be one of those surprise teams this year. But standing in their way today are the Nebraska Cornhuskers who are still trying to get back to their glorious past.

Well the talk of the last week has been all about the memorable comeback by USC last week by Aaron Corp. And now TE Anthony McCoy has become a Heisman contender after his huge two touchdowns. Look out for the Trojans. Another Pac-10 team has a big game today as #16 Oregon will be hosting #23 Utah at Autzen Stadium, another tough non-BCS team for the Ducks. People are writing off the Ducks after their loss to Boise State, but in reality they still are in the Pac-10 race. And Utah's Mountain West rival, #24 BYU take anothe stab at beating a BCS team when they host #17 Florida State. You really have to give it to the 'Noles for coming out to Provo to play the Cougars.

Erin: Thanks Chris. The Hokies will continue to be without their LT Ed Wang (90 ovr) who really anchors that line. Wang strained his back in the first game of the season against Alabama and is likely to miss another seven weeks. In his place, sophomore Greg Nosal (83 ovr) has been filling nicely. For Nebraska, the trainers were uncertain whether junior RG DJ Jones (89 ovr) would play today. He is listed as questionable. Guys, back to you.

Chris: Thanks Erin for that report. Okay. Time to make the picks.

Kirk: I just think this is too tough of a test for Nebraska to win in this stadium. Virginia Tech might be one of the most underrated teams this year. Their season will hinge on how well QB Tyrod Taylor (91 ovr) plays. He is a great athlete but we'll see if he can learn to play in the pocket. But with the kind of running game they have with sophomore HB Darren Evans (91 ovr) and senior G Sergio Render (95 ovr) who is just a bulldozer up front, the Hokies should be able to run the ball. Plus, they have a tough defense. I just don't see Nebraska QB Zac Lee (86 ovr) being able to pull off a win today. Give me the Hokies. (crowd goes nuts.)

Lee: Nice pick Kirk. But you forgot to mention one thing. Nebraska has one of the best DTs in the nation in Ndamukong Suh (97 ovr). He will give Tech fits trying to run the ball. And Zac Lee does have a pretty good receiver in Niles Paul (90 ovr). This team can score, but this will be a low scoring game and I will say that it will be closer than the experts think. That being said....(Lee puts on the Hokie headgear as the crowd goes wild) Go Hokies!
