Dallas, TX - Another game of the week and another rainy evening. It was almost a shame to see Mother Nature affect such a meaningful game and two juggernaut offenses. However, it did not seem to affect leading Heisman frontrunner, Texas QB Colt McCoy as the Longhorns opened with a well executed drive finished off with a McCoy to TE DJ Grant five-yard touchdown to put the Longhorns on the board first to go ahead
7-0.
But the Sooners countered right back with an impressive drive that saw HB Demarco Murrary score a one-yard touchdown at the goal line to tie it up
7-7. It looked like the shootout most thought was going to happen was on its way, but then both teams' defenses tightened up.
In the 2nd quarter, Texas moved the ball into the red zone but had to settle for a 21-yard chip shot to regain the lead for the Longhorns
10-7. With under two minutes in the half, OU QB Sam Bradford was picked off by Longhorn CB Deon Beasly to give Texas the ball at the OU 45-yard line. McCoy led his team into the red zone but again the Longhorns had to settle for a 25-yard field goal to make it only
13-7 Texas at halftime.
To open the 3rd quarter, the Sooners continued to stuggle as they would go three-and-out. However, McCoy and the Longhorns put another nice drive together. McCoy would float a perfectly thrown ball over the defender's hands and into the hands of TE DJ Grant who made a nice catch in traffic in the back of the end zone for a six-yard touchdown reception to put the Longhorns up
20-7.

On the ensuing possession the Sooners would finally strike back as Bradford hooked up with HB Demarco Murray on a screen where the playmaking tailback slipped a tackle and took it to the house for a 69-yard touchdown reception, cutting the Longhorn lead to only
20-14.

Then to make matters worse for Texas, on the ensuing possession McCoy slipped and threw the ball that was intercepted by OU SS Quincy Carter. Suddenly, the Sooners were in position to possibly take the lead. However, OU HB Chris Brown came in for a tired Murray and was plastered by Texas FS Earl Thomas, losing a ball to the grass which the Longhorns recovered. Not long after, McCoy connected deep with WR Malcolm Williams for a 47-yard gain despite some tight coverage.

Now the Longhorns were inside the OU 10-yard line, but again Texas would have to settle for a field goal when WR Brandon Collins could not make the catch in traffic inside the end zone. So the Longhorns scored on a 22-yard field goal to increase their lead to
23-14.
In the 4th quarter, the Sooners got something going on offense again. But the drive would stall, leading to only a 34-yard field goal to make it
23-17 Texas. The Longhorns would be stopped on their next possession but senior kicker Hunter Lawrence was able to boot through a 52-yard field goal to make it
26-17 Texas with 4:32 remaining. Oklahoma's fate was pretty much decided when on the ensuing possession, the Sooners went three-and-out, punting the ball away with 3:49 left to go in the game. Fortunately, the punt pinned Texas at their own five-yard line. The Sooners would quickly get the ball back but after another three-and-out with only 1:57 left to go, the game was over. The Longhorns stay undefeated and are in the driver's seat to win the Big 12 South and a trip to the BCS championship.
