Before the knee injury, was Daunte Culpepper a possible Hall of Famer?

I was sorta surprised by the negative reaction to a comment I made in an Indy Colts thread that I believe Culpepper was a borderline HOFer before that catastrophic knee injury. I agree Randy Moss played a big role in his success, but many HOF quarterbacks have had great players around them, and every HOF runningback has an O-Line to thank.
You can't look at Culpepper's pre-2005 numbers and think anything but Hall of Fame.

Gonna give you credit - good comparison. Again, I said "borderline" I didn't say sure thing.
I just thing you guys are disrespecting Culpepper too much, the same thing I say to you guys about McNabb.
Schaub's had a damn good career. He has nothing to apologize for.

Well it's simple. If he kept these numbers up he'd be in the Hall Of Fame but he didn't so he won't.

If Culpepper had continued for five more seasons on that pace, then maybe. Yes, he had Randy Moss, Cris Carter and Robert Smith (the latter two through 2001) Culpepper put up some damn good numbers.

Still, the HOF, while it might be considered the "Hall of Good" is still not the "Hall That May Have Been." So I don't think Culpepper would make it in unless he turned in five more banner seasons.

Yeah, it's not even a HOF worthy small sample size imo. Just a guy who had a couple of really good seasons.
