People forget that Shipley has blown two ACL's already as well. There's no gaurantee he's going to make it through the season.

That was 4 years ago. I don't see how he has played the last 3 years nearly injury-free and it's still a concern.

Shipley played in every game from 06-09 and had 248 career receptions without incident and his only other injury was a minor nagging problem with his shoulder that required surgery in the '08 offseason.

Am I the only one who watched Johnson or TO play the last two years? How people can say they aren't declining is baffling.

Johnson in particular has always had "young" skills. He never had good hands, isn't a precise route rrunner, etc...the things that keep you playing at a high level when speed, stregth, burst, decline. I'm not sure what those workout videos are supposed to prove , other than he's a guy who knows his physical peak is behind him, so he's working harder. That's part of the process.

Owens clearly lost his way in Dallas two years ago, and wasn't the same player. Tough to judge his season in Buffalo, but sometimes its too easy to blame qb's.

As for Benson, he's a dime a dozen back. 30 or 40 backs could have had similar production on that team last year. He does nothing particularly well or above average. Mediocre speed, no burst, ok power, mediocre moves....he's just a guy. He had a good year, good for him. Nobody fears Cedric Benson.

First of all.. a MAJOR reason why the Bengals even wanted T.O. in the first place is because Antonio Bryant basically has the knees of a 65 year old.

Second of all.. Antonio Bryant has been in the league for 8 years and has had one really good year (2008, Tampa.. shockingly enough a contract year), a so so year (2005 in Cleveland) and the rest .. garbage.

He's incredibly overrated, and very overpaid.

They are FAR from the best WR corps in football. Maybe in 2003 .. not now.

This is a team that will struggle if they are unable to run the football - and I'm with W2B here, Benson's last season was an anomaly. He still is Cedric Benson. Hell Bernard Scott is the best running back on that team, not Ced Benson.

If the Ravens can stop falling down stairs and injuring themselves, they'll coast to a division title.

Chad johnson isnt a great route runner? are you serious those vids dont lie. The amount of time it took him to get out those breaks were insane. I dont care if he isnt running in pads. Having good feet which is key to route running is just that.

T.O caught 7 plays for 30 yards or more. 2 were for 40+

Bryant had 3 catches for 30+ yards playing in shitty tampa. He isnt a burner speed wise..never was but can make the adjustments on the ball to catch it.

Chad johnson had 3 catches of 40+ yards...dam there his whole career he was a deep threat. He had a streak where he lead the afc in receiving yards a few years. You say hes washed up and his legs are going but I dont think so. I believe he still had the speed need to get vertical.

Even though they are one of my teams rivals, I like the Bengals. I was rooting for them in the playoffs and everything.

But I won't be surprised if they go 6-10. Simple fact is Bengals are one of the most inconsistent teams in the NFL, they have one great year and don't see the playoffs for another 4. They do it over and over.

They won the North last year, so they have the hardest schedule in our division. (Patriots, Colts, Chargers (AFC East and NFC South)) Not to mention Pitt will always be Pitt, The Ravens got huge upgrades on a already playoff caliber team and the Browns... (well they are the Browns).

They play @New England, New York and Indy. Then they end the season @ Baltimore (for what could be the division).

I still say the Bengals take 2nd in the North with 9-7 or 8-8 but, I can't see them in the playoffs again. At least not this year, with that schedule.

All I have to say is LOL @ Chad Johnson not being a precise route runner. He has some of the quickest breaks in the league. His footwork is amazing. He glides through routes with ease. Just watch the guy run routes, he runs them all at full speed and with ease.

What a hater. I said if Bryant was healthy so all the other shit about his knees goes without saying. Bryant will not have to be a #1 target and he is far better than a 3.

All that extra stuff you talkin reeks of bullshit, hate and envy. Both T.O and Chad are pro bowl caliber players still. Its going to be extremely difficult to account for all 3 of them WRs along with Gresham on the field at the same time assuming everything works out in camp as far as them not trying to shit on one another and their health holds up.

Thats 3 (WRs) monster egos they will have to put up with. Best of luck to them. I hope our secondary holds up when we face them fuckers this season.

I see a guy who was known for sloppy technique and was widely bashed for being a one trick pony for years. TJ Houshmanjhjgotikhd did all of the grunt work forever, while Johnson ran streaks. Not to mention his sketchy hands.

He's one of the last "star" WR's of his era I would use as an example of a technically sound player.
