AD is so beast that he elevates the dual to #1 for me. Taylor is a very serviceable back, especially on 3rd downs.. pretty good catcher out the back-field and is always running hard, he can fill in for Peterson whenever needed and the Vikings wont have to go away from the run. Theres some nice tandems there tho.. if Williams and Stewart can repeat last years performance they'll deserve the #1 spot.

The only thing that goes along with his play making ability is he has a knack for putting the ball on the turf. He fumbled the ball 9 times and DeAngelo Williams fumbled the ball a grand total of 0 times. Jonathon Stewart and Chester Taylor each fumbled twice, so when you add it together Minnesota 11 and Carolina 2. Both teams had similar amount of carries Minnesota had 464 and Carolina 457.

I'll finish with adding, Carolinas duo had 28 touchdowns together and Minnesota had 14. You can't just say a team is better because of a name, stats have to play some part in the discussion. One year or not, I think they earned the right to be the most dangerous rushing group heading into September.

Johnson has dubbed himself "Every Coach's Dream," both on his Twitter account and to reporters. On Wednesday, he again declared that Smash and Dash is over.

White, the Smash in the nickname, compared Johnson to a little brother who is a bit delirious from all the attention he received from being the only rookie voted to the Pro Bowl last season.

The duo unveiled the Smash and Dash nickname last fall after Johnson ran for 168 yards and one touchdown and White added 149 yards with three touchdowns during an Oct. 19 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs. Johnson and White also verbally tangled with DeAngelo Williams and Jonathan Stewart over rights to the nickname before the Carolina Panthers' running backs switched to Double Trouble.

Titans coach Jeff Fisher has his own thoughts on all this talk of nicknames. He said every coach's dream is for a player who doesn't play the bongos (as Johnson did in that Kansas City game), fumble or get injured during the playoffs. And yes, Johnson sprained an ankle during the first half of the Titans' divisional-playoff loss to the Baltimore Ravens in January.

Fisher does have an idea of a possible new nickname for his two running backs, though.

"Dumb and dumber," the coach said.

The nickname sparring might be part of Johnson's attempt to gain more attention for himself, and he already has solicited advice on touchdown celebrations. Johnson led the Titans with 1,228 rushing yards, but White topped the AFC with 15 touchdowns on the ground.

White isn't one to back down, so he dared Johnson to unveil a new touchdown celebration.

"I'm going to take whatever he has and do it more than he has," White said. "Whatever they twitter ... I'm going to take ... even if it gets me fined."

Choice and Adrain P were going to be a 1-2 punch in College but Choice had a family situation and had to leave the state and thus transfered to G-Tech. Choice and AP was raved to be the best combo backfield until Choice left.

Speaking Barber/Jones that table yall got is cool for whoever made it, and I will say that will about 100+ less attempts than everyone else Barber/Jones were 3rd in average, 10TD's dispite both being injured, neither really finishing the season, and Jones not touching the ball against the Redskins lost (before being out for the season). Also looking at how complete Choice is... I'm really looking foward to seeing dallas run game next year.

What's funny to me though is I dont see Pittsburg or Denver mentioned at all. I literally mean funny looking at how they were and still are running teams but they arent producing right now.

I voted for Barber/Jones although I love the combo Carolina has, but that Arizona game in the playoffs last year surprised the hell outta me. Both of them was shut down completely. I still think they're top though.
 
Watch out for the trio of Darren McFadden, Justin Fargas, and Michael Bush in the 2009 season.
