Not really. Dal/NYG had been pretty much injury free the previous year.
Losing a bunch of ham and egger RBs isnt in the same league as losing your QB and Top pass rusher.
"Getting it done" often depends on peoples health in this league. With virtually the same roster The giants and Boys went from SB champs and 13-3 respectively to struggling to make the playoffs mainly due to 2 injuries.
Assuming every team is going to lose 1 of there 2-3 top players and another one will shoot himself in the leg during the most important time of the year is ridiculous.

McNabb/Manning/Romo presence alone guarantees stability and winning records.
You know what youre getting from them.
Who the fuck knows what the hell is going to happen in the AFC south. You think Collins is going to be as decent as he was last year without that monster DT giving him short field position every game ?
Is David Garrard going to throw 3 picks in 16 games or 3 picks in his first 2 ?

It would take ALOT to happen for NYG/Eagles/Dal to go.500 or less simply because of whos playing QB. Noone would be shocked to see Ten/Jax struggle to crack 8-8.

Assuming a team with health and age issues will continue to be elite after there H.C leaves is also a gamble.

But yeah theres no correlation between elite QBs and winning games.

It would take a moron to overlook all that , not even bother looking at personnel changes and "predict" which division will be better based only previous years w/l records.

But just to homour you , when the Titans beat the best team in the NFL without Haynesworth who was giving them short feild that day? Jones ... the same guy that is going to start this season . Titans have great depth on the dline .

Only one team from the AFC south Tenn was in the top 10 and they lost the main cog to that defense.
Ironically he went to an NFC east team.

So again a division with 3 elite QBs and 4 elite defenses , or a division with one elite QB and No elite defenses.

Too old? 8 of the 11 guys are 30 or younger and the only one who is 30 is Ed Reed who I think we can all agree is just fine.

I guess after I looked at their roster - but Pryce and Gregg are 33-32 the MLB crew is 34-32-37 I dont know if Rolle starts but he's 32 and then Reed. These were the guys I thought played. I just mentioned the one game where Jones got a real chance and he tore it up . We lost Dungy but the guy coming in has been in the system for years now .

While keeping the same morals as Dungy ... Caldwell is preaching defense and getting a bigger more physical style d in Indy in the coming years . I for one welcome that approach

Yes Eli is considered elite. Too few franchise QBs in the league but yeah hes one of them and has the ring to prove it.

Keep diminishing the QB position. As if 2008 didnt happen and Kurt Warners play and Tom Bradys absence didnt have tremendous impacts on there teams.

You assumptions dont mean much of anything. FACT is Titans without Haynesworth have been night and day for 2-3 years. You dont lose the best lineman in the conference perhaps in the league and not suffer from it. They're the only defense in that division worth mentioning. Skins already had a top 5defense. They really dont need Haynseworth to be a good D. Even half as good hes a better player than anyone else on that line.

Romo/Manning/McNabb + 4 top defense >>>> 1 elite QB and 2 above avg and 2 mediocre defenses. NFC easts odds of being a better set of teams is stronger than the AFC South.

No matter how you slice it AFC south looks like 3 teams who can very easily take a step back. Theres very little argument if any outside of "injury to player X" as to why a team in the NFC east will decline.

Theres some decent arguments for the AFC south I recommend you look at the other posters and find a good one.

Im not diminshing the qb position . How could I? My team has Peyton Manning . We would be 3-13 without him .

I just simply stated that teams like the Titans are happy with a "Manage the game quarterback"

Im not even trying to argue that the south is better , i stated that i think both are neck and neck . I just dont agree when some people say "the east is easily , hands down the best"

I was simply asking how having better qbs made a division better . Now that i look back starting the post with "Lol @" probably was an asshole start to a post .

Crayton and Williams get killed, but they're solid enough at WR for this type of unit.

Point I'm making is, Romo's not alone out there. It's time for Garrett to stop running the offense as if he is.

Eagles 10-6
Giants at least 11-5
Washington - 9-7 (at worst)

RayMan, I just saw your sig but Romo is terrible in the playoffs and it is a joke when people put him in front of Eli Manning and Donovan McNabb. Romo hasn't done anything in Dallas except make the playoffs and lose. He is a stat machine because he had WR's to work with including Owens, Crayton and especially that "best" TE.

Anyways back on the topic, NFC East is the toughest and the best division in the NFL simply because combined the Giants, Redskins, Eagles and the Cowboys have one of the scariest defensive players in the NFL. There is like 2 playoff teams every year, and every year the third team is like on the door steps into the playoffs. This year, Giants and Eagles, possibly the Cowgirls are going to the playoffs.

When Eli actually outplays Romo, you give me a call.

He hasn't yet (not even in that fluke playoff game) and he won't in the foreseeable future.
