Best Young Talent in the Indys and Abroad

Of course guys like Kevin Steen and the Briscoes aren't THAT old, but I'm talking even younger. Who are some guys and gals ya'll like and would recommend. I think Inter Species Wrestling over in Montreal is actually filled to the brim with some good young talent. There is comedy wrestler Twiggy and the Super Smash Bros. Player Uno andPlayer Dos to name a few.

Adam Cole IMO is the most wwe ready followed by Elgin. Gargano is probably the most promo ready of the bunch. I don't expect to ever see the young bucks in the e.

I'll play that Leftwich game. WWE readiness/probability of success if they came in tomorrow:

Devitt is already elite compared to anybody, period. He shouldn't even be on this because he isnt an indie guy, he's a major league main event star, and he's over 30. But the OP did say 'abroad', so whatever.

Ricochet is so athletic that he could at least get over as an undercard babyface flyer right now. There is nobody like him. Good look, too.

Elgin is really short, but he's a fucking tank so he's unique enough and big enough to where it isn't a barrier. Would have to tone down his work to the slower & easier on the body WWE standard, but that's nothing a few months in Florida can't fix. He's a white heel Big E Langston. Langston is clearly a face long term.

Bucks heel act could get over because Edge & Christian are distant memories so it's fresh again and new to everybody else. I'd introduce them as faces, have them bump around for The Shield, then turn them for mid card workhorse feuds with Uso's, Matadors, etc.

I'm down on Cole now that I saw how short he was in person. He really lacked presence, too. Comes off waaay better on TV than in real life. They passed on him once already. I was super high on him to the point I thought he could headline one day, but now I don't know.

Gargano is the best promo, by far, of the group. But he's super super tiny, to the point that even in 2013 I think his size is a barrier. YouTube the TV jobs he did a few years ago. He's just a very small framed man. It's a shame, because he's super talented and very driven. I think he'll eventually get a deal, from there, i'm not crazy about his odds of success.

fwiw, my order of "who will end up in WWE" would be much different: Ricochet, Elgin, Gargano, Cole, Bucks, Devitt

I'm told from people I trust that Devitt just isn't all that interested. Not that he couldn't be swayed, but they've tried before and he doesn't seem to want it. He makes a great living, has lots of time off, and is very happy.

I think the first three are locks to be signed at some point, and I think Cole will eventually make it. I'm 50/50 on the Bucks. They have some attitude issues and made enemies there in the past during tryouts. But fuck, the are GOOD.

I agree the bucks are good but honestly, I've always been a bigger fan of The Colony. If the E continues on the PG thing the younger crowds would eat that shit up but they are small and their fast pace isn't wwe style.

I look at it this way. We all enjoy these guys in the indies but they'll be less appealing in the wwe after they're movesets get watered down...its unfortunate.

Think about it, Devitt's been kicking around a while, had that indie run, then probably came to New Japan for good around '06 or so. He was a jobber heel for a while as the bottom guy in CTU, then the long white meat push, you turn around, it's almost 2014.

Tim Donst doesn't do much for me. Wouldn't call Jacobs young, he's from the previous gen.

Here are some other I like a lot, some less obvious than others:

Mr. Touchdown
Carson - sometimes known as Houston Carson, google him, obviously has a great look, and he can work. A real presence in the ring, too
KOTOKA/CIBA
Eita
Barrett Brown - I YouTube worm holed this guy a few months ago, and he might have the best grasp for ring psychology for a teenager that i've seen in years

Obviously, we also have "young" guys who are already superstars, like Kazuchika Okada, La Sombra, etc.

I know youre joking, but he's got to be well into his 30's by now, and makes more running Highspots than he'll ever make wrestling.

I forgot to mention Othello, a huge (near) 7 footer from SoCal. I have no idea how old he is, and he's green, but he's enormous. He looks like a black Great Khali from when Khali was on the juice and bodybuilding.

Not really young, but I always thought Alex Shelley could be the next Jericho. He's a top chain wrestler, he's got some high flying moves sprinkled in that they expect of a guy his size, he's got great charisma, and is very comfortable on the mic. He fits Japan, and loves it from what I hear, but he's been injury-prone for a while. That style is going to wear on him, and ultimately I see him coming back to the States and the natural destination is the WWE. I'd love to see a feud between his 'too cool for school' attitude and Dean Ambrose weird aloofness to a whole new level. Or him and Dolph in the ring.
