You really need to have it explained to you why standing or sitting a few feet from a basektball or football game is kind of risky?
Come on.
Think for two seconds.
Is it as risky as baseball or hockey? No. No one ever said as such. But I know I've seen guys get rampled by gunners who have been forced out of bounds on several occasions. Don't believe they were ever seriously hurt(enough to report)..but that doesn't mean it's "safe" to zone out during a football game.
I really didn't mean to imply those sports carry no risk, simply they are much less dangerous than what's happening in live hockey.
Pucks are quite regularly shot along the boards and easily can take out a players face. This is a high risk of danger if you aren't constantly watching.
What's an NBA player going to fear? Someone running into him? That's easier to react to if you're casually paying attention as opposed to a small disc of rubber coming in at 100mph.
Hockey players are stationary, seated on a bench without the ability to move very well because they are on skates. Football players are standing and can move/jump/whatever to avoid the rare instance of a gunner coming into their sideline.
It's not the same level of risk at all.
Furthermore with the NFL, we're talking 7 second plays about every 2 minutes. Hockey is nearly constant action.
How is a hockey fan an expert on the difference in motivation with physical combat and words? I think you either need those who are subjected to this or perhaps a human psyc doc to really have an expert opinion.
I wasn't sure if this was a serious question. obviousyl I think my opinion matetrs above others. If I didn't why would I still be here?
I don't really know. I don't have a complex where I think I'm better than everyone? That's your own issue I guess, explains alot of why your posting is pretty bad. Being able to understand another viewpoint is impossible if you don't give it equal respect, which you don't....so why discuss topics with "inferiors"?
I don't think we are.
No one said fighting in hockey was a huge injury issue.
Ever. We said it was the simple fact you have a league getting pub for trying to make the game safer yet still allowing something outside the action of the play where two people hit eachother in head.
Their job is to each other in their head and they agree to the risks. Who are we to tell them no?
