Jesus. You'd think that being thousands of miles away from Swansea would prevent some of us from having the blinkers on, but apparently that's not the case. Sure, the ball popped out afterwards. Doesn't mean he didn't nail the kid with his shin. I don't give a shit if the kid is 10 or 17, what he did was wrong and I'm sure he won't be a ball boy for Swansea any more. The extra time that Hazard thought he was going to gain (what, maybe 30 seconds?) now looks inconsequential compared to the absolute stupidity of KICKING A DOWNED KID. Fuck, if he did that to one of the players on the pitch it'd be a straight red.

This is just willfully ignorant. Your feet extend out past your leg. So, it's entirely possible (and I'd say probable) that his toe kicked the ball out while also delivering a decent wallop with his shin. Even if, magically, none of his body made contact with anything but the ball, the mere act of making a kicking gesture at a downed kid is so colossally stupid that to defend it makes Chelsea fans look even worse.

If this sort of thing happened on the field no one would care that he kicked, we would only be looking at replays to see if caught the player or the ball first.

LOLOLOLOL. So, just to be clear, you are comparing an incidental kick to this? This is in no way comparable to a poorly timed tackle as the ball 'boy' was lying prone on the ground. Lets just run through, so I can make sure I am understanding what you're saying:

• Player A has the ball and is fouled
• Player A falls over and pulls the ball under him (something which players do all the time and should probably be hand ball but whatever)
• Player B, wanting the ball, KICKS Player A in the ribs. Sure the ball pops out, but he catches Player A solidly in the ribs
• The referee awards...nothing?

The thing is, I agree with you that the kid is a fucking douche. But you cannot kick a ball boy! AT ALL! There is no gray area here

Also, this is what makes Arsenal's refusal to pay attention to this cup so infuriating. It's obviously winnable, and a trophy would be nice. Beating a tired horse here, but it's too bad that teams feel such a pressure to focus on EPL instead of winning things
