I believe there are varying degrees on how people take jokes. Some guys have the rational that I didn’t know the guy, so why do I care and other’s have the rational of respecting the deceased. Either way, I really don’t have an issue with the jokes or guys who don’t find it funny. However, for the most part regardless of whether you know them or not jokes of the deceased are in bad taste.

If those jokes offend someone I am sorry, but I had to use them to make a point.

I agree, and I think the people that find them funny or tell them would also agree. I think that people find those jokes funny precisely because they're in bad taste. I was more just taking issue with the fact that there always needs to be someone out there finger wagging or shame shaming those people. I just get so agitated when people do stuff like that (I even get agitated with myself when I find myself doing it).

And while I feel a dirty inside, I did laugh at those jokes.

I sort of understand your point, but if you were to feel remorse for everyone who dies, you'd never leave your house, you'd sit in the dark, and even emo kids would make fun of you.

To a guy who has been arrested multiple times for assault? He's beaten up a valet and punched and threw a beer bottle through someones car. Not to mention countless DUIs and penalties and suspensions from dirty play on the field.

I have no remorse for someone of his character especially considering what his intent was last night. I'm sorry. There are way better people that die every single day. I just recently lost a family friend that donated pretty much his entire remaining wealth to my university. He's set up a scholarship that will give over $6,000 a semester to 3 different kids for the next 40 years. Those are people I'll show remorse for. Not someone who is good at football but a complete irresponsible asshat.

So you would feel remorse for a guy who say, kills someone in a shootout but is also shot?

My point is, he was trying to beat his wife and he brought about his own death. Couple that with the fact that none of us (presumably) would be directly affected by his death. You seem to point out that someone died so remorse is necessary. I'm saying that remorse isn't necessary under these circumstances (in fact, I would personally assert that there is no requirement for remorse for anyone for anything, considering it's a feeling and not everyone reacts the same way).

That's a different story, he wasn't about to kill anybody. (Or at least I can assume). I guess you're right, that's what I'm saying, remorse is something I may not feel everytime I hear of a death, but I do feel sorry for that person and their family, because they're a person.

I agree, but as someone said, you can't go through the obits every day and feel remorse for every single person.

If you want to feel remorse, that's fine, death is a terrible thing, I've been very saddened by the loss of a family friend... but I'm not going to give any remorse to someone who acted like Henry.

The only reason anyone gives a shit is because he's a celeb.

If he wasn't, every single person here would be happy that this criminal is dead, most likely this would have been nothing more than a backstory news piece in a local publishing that we all probably wouldn't have read anyways.

Perspective, some people need to get some.
