He's alright. Can't love everybody. He's got bars and when he shows fire I really dig that shit, And he doesn't front bullshit - it's all real with him, so I can appreciate that.

That pretty much summed up my feelings. Its definitely a solid album. Lost Ones really stood out to me. Dollar and a Dream III and Rise and Shine are good too.

The one thing I'll say (and this could just be me) is I feel like sometimes the beat/production does him a diservice. Not that its bad just that its too mellow in places, I'll zone out and the songs tend to melt into one another. Later I'll look at the track list and be like "what was this song?" Like I said this might be more personal preference than an actual criticism.

And I wouldnt say Cole is a "for the bitches" rapper. I feel like a lot of his songs are about women/relationships and he explores/represents their point of view more than other rappers (good example Lost ones where an entire verse is from the female perspective).

I just wish more of the beats were just simple, rap beats. Some of them seem a little more R&B geared than the actual lyrics in some cases, which I think saps power from some of the lyrics. But I need to listen to the album a few more times before I give any official review-type opinions.

Like I said, at least he's legitimate. He gives more thought to it than most of these cats. Some of them seem to mail it in with bullshit, his feelings are real, and I can appreciate that.

I can kind of agree with this, but only cause I'm judging by Friday Night Lights. Too many of the songs start sounding the same near the end.

Not to mention, it seems like he always gives his best beats away (see: HiiiPoWeR by Kendrick Lamar).

I love the beat to God's Gift but the lyrics are kinda stupid. Maybe it's just me being overly critical or maybe it's out of jealousy but he raps about fucking bitches way too much throughout the whole album.
