Denard played absolutely fantastic IMO. He really only had 1 read to make in the passing game, and he made it well pretty much every time. We all knew what kind of speed he had, and man did he show some moves out there. Just a great game.
That said though, I do think its necessary to keep in mind what kind of a defense he was doing this against. UCONN lost two guys in the secondary that combined for 9 of their 12 picks last year, on a pass defense that wasn't very good (88th in yards and 85 in pass efficiency), and ranked 62nd overall in the nation. They were replacing the best pass rusher in the Big East from last season in Lindsay Witten, and projected starter Marcus Campbell went down with a knee injury in fall camp.
That said though, this was a great game from Denard, and very promising for his, Michigan's, and RR's futures, but lets not crown him based on one game against a bad defense. The country did the same thing with Forcier last year and we all remember how that turned out. Lets wait until he puts together a string of games against solid defenses.
