The fallout from Sunday's misguided decision by the Colts to tap out from their pursuit of perfection continues.

Last night, team president Bill Polian's weekly radio show ended 10 minutes early, just as a caller had Polian on the ropes regarding the logical disconnect between resting injured starters for a meaningless game and pulling healthy starters from a close one.

Now, a reader points out that the Colts have asked folks who post messages on the team's official "Fan Forum" to quit complaining.

Under the heading "Enough is enough," site moderator named "TubaGuy" makes this plea: "Up to this point we have been letting people vent and get their emotion out. I think it has been needed, and we didn't want to shut it down. However, now it's getting to the point of being childish and VERY repetitive. At some point, probably Tuesday or Wednesday, it is time to move on. Whether you agree or disagree with the coaching move, this forum needs to move forward. We still have a lot of playing to do, and we need to come together and focus on the future. Let's move on, people. . . ."

Though it's not the first time an NFL team has tried to nudge the discussion on its message boards in a different direction, the fact that the Colts find themselves in this predicament reconfirms that the organization grossly underestimated the local reaction to the abandonment of the quest for perfection with less than 1.5 regular-season games to play.

So either the Colts aren't too smart, or they're extremely arrogant. We'll let PFT commenters debate this and any other topic for as long as they want.

That game clearly had meaning. I wish people would stop calling it meaningless. A perfect season clearly means a lot because everyone still talks about the 16-0 Dolphins and the Patriots blowing it in 2007.

If anything, pulling their starters and not going perfect made this game more meaningful because now if the Colts don't win it all, people will point at that decision. If they go 16-0 and keep the starters in, no one can say perfection made them lose a playoff game because that's just silly.

What's the difference between Brady's 2007 knee injury in Week 1 and Palmer's 2005 knee injury in the playoffs? Same injury. Palmer was already in postseason, Brady was in Week One. Risk is the same regardless of number of snaps. Risk only increases if you continue to play through an injury because you can re-aggravate it. Your argument is invalid.

I'm going off of what you said. You said that non-playoff teams don't risk anything if they lose a player and I'm saying that the logic of that, especially after what you've said in previous posts, is fucking retarded. If Tom Brady suffers his injury in Week 17 instead of Week 1 and the Patriots are let's say 6-10 (just to add emphasis to your "meaningless" point), there's a chance he may not even be ready come back for the beginning of the season.

Even worse, if your franchise player suffers a "Theismann injury" in a game that doesn't matter because he's going to be "sitting on the couch" anyway, it really changes the game plan for your entire franchise even though the game is meaningless. Therefore, if you're worried about players getting hurt like that and saving them for postseason when they have nothing to play for, the same should be the concern regardless of the situation.

That's why resting players only because they're "going to the playoffs" and "they might get injured" makes no fucking sense when the risk of injury is the same regardless of where you are in the season. If you play to win the game, it shouldn't change just because of what your record is.

First, the bolded is absolutely incorrect. Chance of injury does not increase when you play more plays. Once again, you keep dodging this and just come back with your stupid logic that you have ZERO proof for. I asked what was the difference between Brady's injury in Week One and Palmer's in the playoffs when they were similar injuries that happened because someone went low on them.

The play/snap count has NOTHING to do with it. Almost every injury in the NFL occurs because of a nasty collision, a dirty hit, awkward movement, etc. Nakamura of the Ravens played one play and is out for the season. Everett for the Bills played one play... his career's done. Trent Green didn't become injured because he played more plays in Miami... it's because he tried to throw a block going low on Travis Johnson and got a knee to the head. It can happen at any moment, whether it's play one or play two-thousand.

Until you answer that question, I am not resuming in arguing with you because you keep dodging.
