Some people, like Marshall Faulk, are saying that they don't think Manning will go to ANY NFC team because he doesn't want to block Eli from getting to the Super Bowl and visa versa.

Hard to be impartial, but WTF does Seattle have other than Marshawn Lynch that can compare to that? Throw in the drab, shitty weather for half his games too.

First of all.. the weather is overrated. Miami has more rain than Seattle.

Second of all.. The Seahawks play in a much easier division. They are similar to the Colts in that the media doesn't really care about them as much as they would Miami, Washington, or the Jets and Peyton craves that.

Third of all.. we have the best facilities in all of football, a owner who will open his pockets and get Manning help where he wants it, and a player friendly coach in Pete Carroll who knows how to recruit.

Lastly.. lol at saying it's just Marshawn Lynch. They have Doug Baldwin, Sidney Rice (when healthy you saw what he did with Favre), Zach Miller, likely Reggie Wayne if we signed Peyton... and a good franchise LT in Russell Okung and an explosive young defense that will get better in the draft and free agency.

Seattle is a very attractive option.

IMO, Philbin wants Matt Flynn, his project ... not Manning.
In the best case scenario, the Dolphins get Flynn with a Kolb contract that they can make disappear after year 1 if they're not satisfied.
This idea that Manning can make the Dolphins an elite team is ridiculous, they don't have enough.

If Manning wants to win a Super Bowl right now, his better option is the Jets.

I dont think Philbin will really think of him as his project, what you do is take Manning and draft your project so you actually have a project.

That's what will be interesting. Are the Cardinals or Seahawks genuinely interested? Or just driving the price up on each other?

Teams across the NFL have been notified that Ex-Indianapolis Colts quarterback Peyton Manning officially hit the waiver wire Wednesday afternoon, league sources told NFL Network insider Jason La Canfora, permitting quarterback hungry franchises to begin their pursuit of the four-time MVP.

One team in particular wasted no time expressing its interest, as the Seattle Seahawks reached out to Manning's camp, a league source told NFL Network's Albert Breer.

The Seahawks were among the initial group of potential Manning suitors, and the team reportedly plans to come at Manning "checkbook blazing" to ensure he makes the Pacific Northwest his new home, ESPN New York reported Tuesday, citing a league source.

During an emotional Wednesday news conference in which Colts owner Jim Irsay announced the team's decision to part ways with its Hall of Fame-bound signal-caller after 14 seasons, Manning told reporters that he definitely plans to play next year after missing the entire 2011 season. The only question is where he will suit up come September, and Manning admitted he hasn't thought about a potential new team at this point.

"I don't feel like I have anything to prove," Manning said. "Nobody loves their job more than I do. Nobody loves playing quarterback more than I do. I still want to play."

Kind of reiterates the SI reports from last night.. I would think we would act quickly on this because Mario Williams becomes a FA on Tuesday and he's our #1 target/want even if they get Peyton.

I'm trying not to get too excited at the thought of Manning in a 49er uniform. I know its a long shot, and a jab at Alex Smith, but it would 100% help tip us over the edge and make us have the best shot at a Super Bowl. We were so close this year, and this would give us that push imo.

For some reason, I just don't think that's the type of franchise/organization he wants to go to. I don't care how much money they throw at him, it's going to take them a lot more to lure him in. I believe he's stated that he wants to play in a big time market.

Now if they can get Mario Williams first then go after Peyton, that might be the all the difference to him.

Of course money is on Miami. I don't think Seattle has much of a shot at all. The Seahawks have no tradition, Seattle is across the country for him and it's just not a franchise I think he'd want to play for. If he goes to the NFC, it's the Cards.
