I love how Nuk fails to mention who Calvin Johnson's QB's have been since he's been in the league. I also like how he fails to mention that he watched approximately 35 seconds of Lions games this year and has no idea that Calvin was literally double OR triple-teamed on every single play. EVERY. SINGLE. PLAY. No teams were worried about Bryant fucking Johnson burning them.
Kle fails to mention that Roy Williams also had the same type of success in Detroit, and instead of being given the same benefit of the doubt as Calvin Johnson, he was labeled a bust. Why wasn't Roy Williams given the same benefit of the doubt? Because when you're drafted as high as he is, you're expected to play better than what he did - whether it's for Detroit, Cleveland, or the Patriots.
Let's compare Calvin Johnson/Roy Williams first three seasons in Detroit.
Roy Williams.
181 receptions, 2,814 yards, 23 TDs.
Calvin Johnson.
193 receptions, 3,071 yards, 21 TDs.
Roy Williams was considered a bust by his third season, and for good reason, because he wasn't playing up to expectations - but then again, he put up numbers close to Clavin Johnsons. So, it's Detroit's fault for that, too? It's Detroit's fault that Charles Rogers, and Mike Williams blew ass, too, right?
The only thing I blame Detroit for, is their lousy ability to scout WRs, and piss poor drafting. But since Detroit doesn't have many things going on for them, I'll shut up, and let you guys go back to thinking Calvin Johnson is more than a decent football player, with a ton of talent, who hasn't quite learned how to use it to his full ability - you know, kinda like.... Roy Williams.
