What the Tebow supporters have been saying, is that he is a competent NFL starter who is clearly better for his team than Orton. And quite frankly, it's pretty obvious that this opinion turned out to be accurate.

If you want to play "I told you so", it should be directed towards the 'Tebow is terrible' crowd, who have clearly been proven wrong over the last few months. He took a 1-4 team to the playoffs, and won a round. It's time to cut losses and admit he brings something to the table, or honestly, you just look ridiculous.

how have the tebow sucks crowd been proven wrong? unless you listen to the pointless 'i hate him cuz he loves jesus' garbage, what most of his detractors say (and I am one of them) is that he can't run a pro style offense that is passed based. this game tonite proved that. if tebow had any kind of skill as a passer this game might not have been a blow out. what nfl team runs the ball the majority of the time down 35-7? none with coaches who stay employed.

whether or not tebow is a better option than orton remains to be seen. orton was in a no win situation. he knew the team was going to be drafting a qb this year and with all the clamor for tebow and a losing record he was gone before he got going. don't get me wrong, orton is a mediocre qb at best, but compared to tebow he is miles above him as a passer. tebow brought heart and spunk and it just so happens that when he became the starter the defense started not to suck so bad with an actual pass rush for once.

this blowout loss gives elway the excuse to draft a qb or trade for one in the off season. elway knew tebow couldn't get it done but he also knows that the people love him. he had to be praying for him to fail. there is no way the broncos can keep the triple option as their offense and expect to continue to win and compete in the nfl. the pro level players are just to fast for that garbage.

Clearly Tim Tebow and his 45% completion percentage and run focused offense is the way to go in the NFL. In fact this is a copy cat league and I guarantee teams will adopt the option and start drafting QB's like Tebow to win Super Bowls.

Did you watch the game? The Bronco's offensive line was getting destroyed. Not to make excuses for Tebow, but it doesn't matter if it was Tebow, Orton, or Tom Brady at QB. They were going to struggle in a traditional passing offense because that offensive line had a brutal game.

They made the switch, it worked, and no matter when Denver ultimately saw their season end, the Tebow hate was going to run wild regardless. Lame.

But here's the thing, the defense didn't "just so happened to get better" when Tebow took over, it got better because Tebow took over.

The rushing attempts went up, the first downs went up, the time of possession went up, and the turnovers went down. The improved defense was largely a mirage. It was the same defense. They weren't constantly on the field anymore, and were no longer put behind the 8-ball all of the time by Orton's turnovers.

It was not a coincidence that the defense improved under Tebow, it was a direct result of Tebow and the new offensive system.

The Broncos didn't lose tonight because of Tebow, they lost because their D simply couldn't stop Brady and those damn tight ends.
That said, tonight likely proved what a lot of people believe - Tim Tebow is simply not the long-term answer for the Denver Broncos ... and this is coming from a Tebow supporter/fan.
When your coach is calling run plays on 2nd and long down 21 points or so in the 3rd quarter, it's clear Tebow isn't their guy.
And, frankly, his inaccuracy, inability to find his check-down, his indecisiveness once his first read is out and his Fred Flintstone release are just too much to overcome in the flag football passing league that the NFL has become.

Matthew Fucking Stafford passed for 5,000 yards this season. The NFL is not a read option offence league.

I love Tebow. I think he's a terrific human being, absolutely not a phony, but the read option and his weaknesses got exposed beyond belief today.

All that said, I like the idea of giving him a complete off-season and at least trying to make this work.

Will it? I'm not sure. But anyone who is 100% Tebow-committed at this point is insane.
