Its like you view the tolerance of gays as being "unethical", because it "suppresses" the "argument/opinion" of those who are intolerant of gays. It's in the context of what "horrible" meant. He didn't just tweet out horrible and get in trouble for that. It obviously means that he thought the Michael Sam situation was horrible, which is against the beliefs of his employer.

It was on twitter, just like the Jones incident, which is why I brought it up. At least I'll applaud your consistency.

A social media policy is for social media platforms, such as Twitter. His background has the Dolphins logo, and his description openly said he is a Dolphins player. That means he is representing the team at that particular time.

Horrible is not tame in the context of things.

The argument centers around both "prove to me god didn't" and "prove to me god did". All depends on what side of the fence you sit on. Both sides have just as much provable evidence to back up their belief. I sit on the fence and don't tell either side they are wrong. But I do say oppression is wrong.

My tolerance of gays is not based on what God said/didn't say. Its based on being a decent human being, and seeing no logical reason for hating gays other than ignorance/fear. I would HOPE that most/all ethical "dilemmas" aren't dependent on what God says.

A belief is neither tolerant or intolerant. Intolerance comes when belief turns into oppression. Then there is the question of whether you're tolerating something that is right or wrong. To me, if something can't be proven to be wrong, ethically, you must show tolerance. You still have the right to belief it's wrong. When belief is factually proven to be true or false, the question of it's tolerance is unquestionably answered.

Why are we even debating this? It doesn't fucking matter, it's not pertinent to this thread. If the NFL says don't tweet stuff that makes us look bad, NFL employees can either comply or not comply and be dealt with accordingly.
