That would be undermining authority. Different case here. This would be like me calling a neighbor down the street as redneck white trash and my job suspending me over it.

I am absolutely a progressive where these things are concerned, but I can't deny that I worry about the shutdown on free speech where homosexuality is concerned.

Personally? I don't give a fuck.

But I do care that the second you criticize the gay lifestyle, you're an instant pariah.

While I believe the Bible is an absolute work of fiction, many, many people do not ... and the Bible says being gay isn't right.

Again, I don't agree ... but you should have the right to free speech as long as you don't hurt anyone.

The few NFLers coming out and saying they don't believe in homosexuality should have the right to say so ... as long as that's where it ends.

IMO, the strong-arming going on in this issue is as frightening as bashing homosexuals.

I absolutely believe homosexuals should be free to be who they are ... but eliminating free speech for those against homosexuality is not right either.

And this is undermining the authority of his team that needs to put out a good image. If I was making homophobic rants to my customers, I'd be fired, not just "suspended".

There wasn't really a rant in this situation either. Dude could have, and probably should have, gotten a talking to about how to use social media properly. The fine and suspension are a pure overreaction to the Sam scenario the league has been walking on pins and needles about since the guy came out.

There are a ton of things that the bible says not to do like wear clothes with mixed fibers, something every single player in the NFL breaks, can't eat shellfish, as well as others. These people aren't against homosexuality because the bible says so or else they'd be living in the stone age. They use the bible as an excuse to fit their hateful agenda.

In may ways, I agree with you Aso ... seriously. But I have serious issues with the Bible guys being marginalized as quickly as the gays. In a perfect world, everyone would understand that being gay isn't a choice, but it's not a perfect world.
