You know you guys are right Romo is vastly over rated. the guys sucks in big games, because the only big games this guy is in he loses. You're right, it's only a big game when he loses. If he ever wins a playoff game it isn't gonna be considered a big game cause people are gonna be waiting for him to lose in the next round.

It's that Peyton Manning syndrome, Romo's been labeled as a choker and people aren't gonna drop it till he gets a super bowl ring.

That being said Romo isn't that good and gets way too much media attention based on what he's accomplished. Dorsett is right.

And with all due respect, I think Palmer, Hasselbeck, and Schaub are all good QBs when they are healthy.

Its people like you that make others go out of thier way to disagree with you and your views on Romo. I'll give you that Romo is young, and with a little consistency could possibly be a Cowboy for a longtime. As someone else stated he could be going through the "Peyton Manning Syndrome", which means he could have a bright future ahead of him. As Dorsett said, Romo was annointed this status, he didn't earn it by any means IMO. Take a tip from your fellow Cowboy fans in this thread, as you can read they aren't making excuses as you continue to do, and they seem to agree with Dorsett for the most part. Most of this criticism is coming from Cowboys legends, I'm confident they know what they are talking about, and its long overdue. You said that its because these guys played with QB's like Staubach, and Aikman, well every post you make you seem to put Romo on thier level, and clearly he's not.

I think Dorsett is right. Romo is not a typical QB. He has the skills and playing style of Favre with none of the authority commanded by Favre, even when Favre was just a 4 year pro. It seems that whenever Romo has a chance to lean into his mates about sub par play, he steps back from doing that. This also brings out the fact, that there are no leaders in the locker room. Aikman commanded respect in that room and on the field. Emmitt did the same. Freakin Moose Johnston was more of a leader than Romo. Aikman and Emmitt combined kept Irvin sane enough cuz they knew with all 3 combined they can win multiple Super Bowls.

Romo isn't a type A personality. Neither is Witten or Barber or Roy E or anyone on that defense. They are all fun loving guys looking for someone else to step up. I think this is created by Jerry Jones too. He loves being in charge, he wants to be the guy that everyone answers to, and likes everyone to shut up when he speaks. Wade Phillips is perfect. He listens but doesnt command. Jerry is the commander of the Cowboys.

Jones and Jimmy Johnson couldn't stand each other, and then Johnson left. Switzer came in as a lap dog, won a Super Bowl and got too big for his head in Jerry's opinion so he was gone too. Then we got Gailey, followed by Campo...Grade A lap dogs.

Finally Parcells showed up, because for the first time Jerry was losing his fan base, he need an actual coach with a voice, authority and know how to build a team. But to piss him off, he brings in TO and Parcells bolts.

I actually think if Parcells woulda stayed, Romo could have become a better QB mentally and physically.

The thing with Romo is.. he's overrated because of the star on his helmet. It's like a Red Sox player or a New York Yankee.. Duke Blue Devil etc.. some teams just overrate their athletes.

If Romo played in Cleveland, no one would talk about him. He's not a bad QB, you can do a lot worse, but he's definitely not a great one. He's average. The thing is.. average QB's get the hype of star QB's when they play on the Dallas Cowboys.

A career 94.2 Qb rating .2 less than manning who was 0-3 his first 3 playoff games(which he had better talent around him than Tony does to go along with better coaches).

Romo gets to much blame for having a team that doesn't really have that much real talent. Are running game is good, but Barber is vastly overrated as a everydown back and Jones who shows flashes need to prove he can be more consistant and injury free. The best Back may be Choice who wont get a ton of oppurtunities when barber and jones are healthy.

The Wr lack any talent and our #1 Wr best attribute is that he can block, but can't get open and lacks the speed to do anything vertical. Crayton has analyst saying he has the "best" hands in the league, but drops alot of balls especially in key situations. Miles can be accounted for 1 big play a game, but thats about it. Witten and Bennett are our best offensive weapons which i believe Witten is the best overall TE in the league, but it doesn't help when the coverage double the TE and the WR still cant get open...

I will be shocked if Tony ever wins a SB in Dallas as it stands now as he just doesn't have the talent around him to make up for the terrible coaching...Tony's problem is he trys to make up for the rest of the team and sometimes forces stuff if he had better people around him i highly doubt he would have these types of games..

No Sir ... Tony Romo had more talent in the loss to NYG than Peyton had in his first playoff game or two .

At runningback we had Edge and Mungro splitting carries (lol @ Mungro splitting anything) . Receiving wise he had Marcus Pollard as his go to TE (who btw has done little to nothing since leaving Indy) . Troy Walters at wide receiver (who lost two fumbles btw) to go with Marvin (I will give you that) and a rookie Reggie Wayne .

Then on D we have , Nick Harper and Walt Harris at corner , a linebacking core that was led by Mike Peterson (hardly DaMarcus Ware now his he) .... Bashir at safety and a dline of Dwight Freeney and Triplett (that's about it) if I'm not mistaken

Winning big games playoff games etc is a great way to judge two relatively comparable guys...i.e Brees/Romo vs Rivers/Manning. Not having won a huge game doesnt decrease you down to the mediocre level of QBs.

Overrated is for the clowns who put him in the Brady Manning Warner class... putting him in the same tier is Eli and Mcnabb is justifiable and accurate. One guy cant stay off the bench and is trash most of the regular season....the other has done great in big games but never put together a dominant run as a passer during the regular season the last has been MVP caliber for much of the season but falls flat on his face in pressure games. Aint much seperating those guys.

Absolutely. The difference is, despite his various mistakes in big games, Brees' overall play in December is similar to what he does earlier in the season while Romo suddenly looks as if he's never played the position before. And Brees' overall stats over the last few years are in Dan Marino territory.Those things give Brees the edge over Romo.

Brees Sep thru Nov (don't have time this morning to do the whole stat line): 126 td 79 int

Brees in Dec: 51 td 22 int

In fact, he has a better td-int ratio in December. He has to be downgraded because a number of those picks have come at inopportune times but there's still a lot more there to hold on to.
