I want that Juggernaut armor

I got this game for the ps3, any tips for the beginning of the game? I dont mind spoilers, i already know alot, i just dont want to do something thats gonna piss me off later in the game

From what I remember so far you need:

-Use this site. It will spoil the shit out of the game for you but if you have a specific question as to what a certain item does or what would happen if you killed "X-Character," this will help.

-Never do anything for free in this game. EVER.

-Putting points in Cunning will add to your success percentage when you choose a "Persuade" response in any conversation.

-Putting points in Strength will add to your success percentage when you choose a "Coercion" response in any conversation.

-You can equip more than one set weapons on a character at a time. Just hit [START] when you equip your party with swords and the like and you will bring up secondary slots for them.

Highly useful for long range party members that get swamped all of a sudden and need to defend themselves.

-If you have the money, buy Backpacks if they are available. Doubly so when you're in Ostagar.

Talk to the Quartermaster and buy one then come back again later to buy another one... the second's available because of a glitch in the game but shit, who care when you can carry 110+ pounds of loot?

-When in Lothering, get Leilianna (sp?) in the tavern first before you do anything with Sten.

If you chat with Sten and then try to get the Chantry Mother there to let him out (without Coercing her), she flat out tell you no.

If you have Leilianna with you, she'll convince the lady to set him free.

If you just do everything else without either Character, they'll be lost forever when you leave the town.

-If you plan on keeping alcohol gift-types, then go do the Dwarf quest first. Otherwise that shit will take up space in your backpack for days while you leave armor and weapons behind that you could keep to sell later.

Other than that, just remember: Sten likes paintings, Leilianna likes shoes and flowers, Morrigan likes jewelry and Alistair likes occult artifacts and figurines.

-Be nice to EVERYONE YOU TALK TO. Being a dick may sound like fun but if you make other party members pissed at you, they'll leave the party permanently.

This is very bad if Alistair or Morrigan walks (your main Tank and Mage/Healer...if you spec her right).

Other than that, just have fun!

Luckily I rerolled an Elf Commoner with a Warrior class.

You want to talk about being a dirty whore? Alistair, Leiliana and Zevaran await.

Of course, I could always go back to my other save where as a Human Noble, I'm stuck in the "Friend Zone" with Leiliana (until I drag her along to trigger a random encounter) and Morrigan won't put out until it's probably too late.

I suppose that makes my people whores then.

It's worth it for the story (especially for the frighteningly awful choices you can use if you play as an evil character... Hint: There's a kid in Redcliffe and...

Also, if anyone tells you that there's 70+ hours to put into this, it's because of all the reading, min/maxing and character combos you can choose from. :inlove:

my human mage has like 60 hours played, probably has 40 something hours left of gameplay, and thats with reading everything/exploring everywhere.

thats not even taking into consideration all the alt characters i have that are tweaked a certain way. its not just a good and evil game. its a frigging personality simulator. theres many different paths through it and some really heinous stuff you can do.

if you are only buying one game this christmas, this is it, it will easily soak up most of your time. my boss thinks i have a drug problem. while i do, the red eyes are from dragon age for "just one more quest"

Aside from the random battles that show up (nothing like a full party wipe when you forget to bring enough health poultices) when you move from place-to-place, I find that there's a lot of reward in doing Chantry Board/Mage Guild quests.

Shit, you get a free sword with an enchantment slot if you finish all the Lothering Chantry Board quests.

My copy of Fallout 3 weeps nightly.

There are so many random things that can happen. For instance, my approval with Leiliana is sky high because I bang her every 20 seconds when we're in camp. After talking to her after the Brecilian Forest, she sings a 4 minute long song that profiles each character's expressions while she's singing.

This game is simply amazing. I'm about to start the final part, and I don't want it to end. I love my character and my party. Alistar is a beast, Wynne is unstoppable, I am looking like Stone Cold Steve Austin in dragonscale armor and a sweet face tattoo, and Leiliana comes along so she can open trunks and shoot arrows at people for 100 damage each.

My wife hates this game.

This is my first RPG that I have really liked (never got into Mass Effect...might try again) but I have no idea how the menus work. I really need to take an hour of my time and just read the instructions. I don't get much time to play at one time, so I'm only at the part where I'm escaping the prison early in the game.

What do you mean? Have you ever played a Western RPG? They are quite different but I don't see why having played old RPGs would mean you'd be lost in a newer one...?

Well I mean, it's going to be nothing like Final Fantasy 7. It's more like Final Fantasy 12 with more story choices.

I think anyone could learn the controls, menu, speed and even advanced game mechanics. Nothing about the game is hard to grasp. There are definitely challenging parts, but nothing a person couldn't learn with a little dedication and desire. If you haven't played an RPG in that long though (even though Western RPGs are nothing like JRPGs), I would rent it if you're interested.

Anyways Morrigan is fucking sexy but I have no idea how to fuck her lol. My crew I roll with is Sten, Leilanna and Alistair with Morrigan and my warhound at the camp.

Level 19 Templar/Champion Warrior wearing Wade's Dragon Scale Armor, made from the hide of the High Dragon. I'm using the two handed greatsword, Summer Sword, with 15 damage and 2 Grandmaster Silverite Runes to kill darkspawn better.

My bitch, Leiliana...a level 18 bard duelist that is a master archer, dealing nearly 100 damage per arrow. She's wearing the Wade's Superior Drakeskin armor.

My boy, Templar Berserker Alister

 

That's KING Alister, to you...

rocking the Warden Commander armor and the Rock Knocker helmet. He's equipped with the Redcliffe Elite shield and Starfang, the glowing blade forged from the metal from a meteor. Yes, it's as badass as it sounds, doing almost 13 damage...for a one handed longsword.

And my "mom", Wynne...the Arcane Warrior Spirit Healer who is awesome enough to wear the Blood Dragon armor. She uses the Winter's Breath staff...causing massive cold damage with each hit.

Fuck, that all sounds SO dorky, but this game makes me geek out like nothing else.

A little help is in order then:

 

Assuming that you haven't gotten to the Circle of Magi quest, then you have few options in order to get Morrigan in the sack.

You pretty much have to be as nice as possible to her, flirting when able. Other than that, you need to give her a shit-ton of jewelry (save the religious-looking pieces; those are for Leilanna) and go from there.

Also, if you warm Morrigan up enough, she'll ask you to find a Grimore in the Mage's Tower for her. Find it and give it to her and she should give it up eventually.

EDIT: Beat'd... aside from the book you gotta find.

 

You get a really cool shield when you do the Dalish Elves quest (where you're at right now) if you do it right.

You have to agree to help the village leader take Witherfang's heart, work all the way to the point where you speak with the remaining werewolves about seeing Witherfang (it'll be at the end of a dungeon in some ruins).

Choose to speak with Witherfang instead of outright slaughtering the rest of the Werewolves.

Talk to Witherfang then agree to go back to the village and get their leader to come back with you... from there, if you pick the right conversation options, you'll fight alongside Witherfang against the village leader and some monster trees.

After you win the fight, get the village leader to break the curse and set the werewolves free.

The werewplves with thank you offering you a reward (or you should ask for one), take it and you'll get "Swiftrunner's Shield".
