We didn't just upgrade the center position we brought in a man who averages 19 pts and 12 boards. We brought in Jason Richardson at the 2 guard spot who is a better shotter than Iggy and a better free throw shooter. We also got Nick Young who has all sorts of potential and is longer (6-7")than the guy he's replacing Lou Williams who was only 6-1".
We also brought in Dorell Wright who is a 6-9" forward that has gone under the radar. This guy is a quality player who can shoot the 3 similar to Paul Geogre of Indiana. Not to mention that our players (Holiday, Turner, Hawes, Young, Allen)will be another year older and more mature.
How many NBA teams have a player large enough to SEAL THE PAINT? The 76ers have 2 guys!! Bynum and Brown at 285 lbs each.....Do you know how huge that is? Why do you think Kendrick Perkins has a job right now on one good leg?

What else can I say........
Nick Young will make a minimal impact on the team. He might win 4-5 games for you through out the year, but hes also gonna shoot you out of 10 games during the year. He needs to chuck up at least 10-15 shots if hes gonna get his numbers, and most games his shot is not on. When the guy gets hot, hes a huge offensive talent but he's incredibly inconsistent. His defense is one of the worst in the NBA, anyone matched up with him is guaranteed at least 10.
Jason Richardson is basically coming into the same situation with a different team name. In fact, he's coming into a place with a 2nd rate version of the center he used to play with. I'm not exactly seeing how he's gonna play any better than he did in Orlando which was lackluster at best. He may be a better FT shooter than Iggy, but he's not as physical and again has almost 0 defensive abilities.
Dorell Wright is another one of these average so-so players which Philly for some reason believes will blossom into a star. He's only played 1 full season in the NBA, so we'll see if he can do anything. He's really only had 1 good season in his 8 years as a pro so I don't think there's much potential left. What you see is what you get with him pretty much. He may a be long forward, but it would appear he's past his peak and is nothing more than another so-so player on Philly's roster. To say he's going to "be a Paul George" is only proving my point as he's been in the league 4 times as long as Paul George.
Just because players are a year older doesn't mean they're going to be any better. Jrue Holiday is nice, I like him at PG but every other player on 76ers roster (except bynum) is lack luster at best. Philly has been waiting for Evan Turner to turn that corner for years though but I don't seem him coming up big next season. Spencer Hawes and Kwame Brown may be decent rebounders, but that's all they'll ever be. Neither one has an offensive game, Hawes has the slight advantage defensively. I doubt Kwame sees much of the court next year, it's Kwame fucking Brown.
Bynum, as I've said previously, is extremely immature and inconsistent. He's known to not just take plays off, but take entire games off and not care. He had good numbers last year, but he did it being around 2 other all star caliber players. Bynum was usually the third player teams game planned against and teams were much more willing to allow Bynum be 1 on 1 rather than Gasol and Kobe. It'll be interesting to not only see how bynum is gonna handle the double teams down low next year, but also the scrutiny that comes with being a franchise player. I think the latter is going to kill him and he's going to duck and run after the season to another team (Cleveland maybe?).
All in all, it would seem Philly is taking the Indiana/Denver approach to building a team and attempting to collect a bunch of players the same caliber so that there's minimal drop off when subs come in. Theory is great in sense, but it's proven in the NBA you need more than 1 star player to be successful. Denver can't get out of the first round and Indiana is routinely beat in the playoffs by teams with multiple stars. Not to mention the caliber of players on the 76ers is no where near the caliber Indiana had. Most of philly's players are under performers and known for being inconsistent on the court. The players Indiana and Denver went after were guys who played great while on the court in their respective roles (George Hill, Wilson Chandler, Danilo Gallinari etc).
To say Philly is not only a lock for a two seed, but a possible championship contender with this roster is laughable at best. They have nobody who matches up with any of the big names in the east, in fact there are multiple teams in the east with favorable matchups with philly. The Pacers and Heat match up the best with Philly solely because Philly has no one to defend the 3 with Iggy gone. Danny Granger and Lebron are gonna have huge games against this team. Bynum may match up well against the heat, but I think when they face the pacers, Roy Hibbert can help minimize the impact of Bynum on the game. I still see Brooklyn as the better team as Philly isn't gonna be able to keep up the offensive output of Brooklyn through 7 games. Deron Williams, Joe Johnson and Gerald Wallace again will have great games while Brook Lopez is big enough to weather the storm (Obviously Bynum should win this matchup) against Bynum.
