True, but if they came up with the $30 million for the license.......
I'm not defending it by any means, and if Take-Two wanted the license desperately, I am sure they would be able to get it. With their MLB and NHL games now defunct, I can't imagine Take-Two is willing to take that risk right now, even given previous history with NFL 2K5. I think they are content to hold the market on NBA and also continue to develop the WWE title they acquired from THQ.
I would also think drastically expanding Visual Concepts or adding another studio entirely would have to happen for them to put out an NFL entry.

According to EA's CEO they still have several years left on their exclusive agreement, so this Rex guy is nothing but a huge troll. Ea doesn't like competition because they know what that did for their Live franchise.

Yeah I have read that... It was renegotiated during the NFL season but neither the NFL or EA has commented on it still being exclusive.

He said there are rumors of the license being available and what would they do if competition came back. His reply was for 2k to invest the money in a license (one he knows is still exclusive) and to make a game. They can't do either so he's trolling. Why not deadened the rumor which is false, instead of calling out someone out who can't get in the game.

I think you take a much more diplomatic approach to your answer, steer away from the license and move towards the current effort, and future focus of your own game. It's not like 2k was challenging him to an answer. Just poor judgement. Secondary to the flippin license staying exclusive.

Not only does the NFL have to give up exclusivity, but the NFLPA would have to do the same as well. Never knew 2k made a better offer either, for whatever reason the NFL just doesn't want 2k to be involved. I wonder if the price war really sparked that much of a backlash.
