Im just going to state what should be seemingly obvious here, a fadeaway jumper is never the best shot for LeBron, ever, at any point in the game. With 15 seconds left it is imperative that he tries to work something offensively, weather its trying to back the smaller Rondo down or trying to create off the dribble, rather then just hold it out and step back for the jumper. Is it so simple to get by Rondo and the collapsing Boston defense (who were crowding the paint like crazy on that play), well, of course not.. but you have to try to create more for yourself or the others around then a step back jumper from around the 3 point line. Whether its Rondo guarding you, or anyone else on that team (altho id argue if theres anyone to shoot over it is the smaller Rondo), attempt to attack the basket and kick out to an open shooter, try to draw contact, or try to break down your defender off the dribble. It seemed as tho LeBron had it in his head that he was going to take a jumper there and win it. And its not just a LeBron problem, in general the stars of the league settle for a jumper in a game winning situation. Very rarely do you see them drive the hole (I guess due to fear of not getting a call in the big moment). Unfortunately for LeBron his jumper is not his strength, so it obviously reflects poorly on him in this instance, but its just a general "issue" in the NBA.
