I'm a big Jim Kelly fan, I think a lot of people would be talking about him if they would've won one of those Superbowls. He was really the originator at calling the entire offense at the line and making sight adjustments.. and no one can really argue how great that Bills offense was for a long period of time. The Gators couldn't beat any NFL team(insert Raiders/Bills/Browns joke). I'd like to see how effective the Gator offense would be against an NFL defense. The Gators might be lucky enough to get in field goal range a few times.

Anyways, one more Super Bowl and Peyton is the GOAT by far. Even now I'd have a tough time putting Montana ahead of him. Like Warner said, if I had to pick any player to start a franchise with, it'd be Peyton.

If we're gonna talk about him let's call it like it is, he is the greatest participating coach of all times. I for one can't wait til he retires. I forsee him retiring after his next SB victory, but maybe he'll go for 2 in a row then retire.

Once he retires I see him going on to be the highest paid HC in NCAA historyn and having the best Tennessee Volunteers team since the inception of football at that school.

I think he's number two as a prototypical QB to Johnny U. I like Randall, too, as he was one of the greatest scramblers of all time, but if you're looking for a classic drop-back, I'd go with John Unitas, and then Peyton.

He's still amazing, though. He's definitely the best who's playing right now. After him I'd take Brady or McNabb.

Thurman Thomas was with him though for his entire career. I think that greatly helped a lot and might take away slightly from Kelly. While Manning has had James (not as good as thomas imo but still good) then Addai (nowhere near as good) and now the brown combo he's got going.

Also Jim Kelly had 175 interceptions in 11 years, Manning has had 169 in 12 years (in 12th) and has 12,000 more yards, 4.6% more accurate, and 108 more touchdowns. Even if Kelly did win one of those rings he'd be equal in the ring stat to Manning, but Manning crushes him in everything else.

Stats are amazing, but I find it hard to put him as the greatest of all time when looking at only one ring in comparison to multiple rings and stats by some other prolific QBs.

I'd be hard pressed to say I'd want Manning as my QB in the Super Bowl over a guy like Montana.

I'm a big Peyton Manning fan but no, he's not the GOAT. At least not yet. Fair or not, greatness at the QB position is largely defined by what you do in the post season, where Peyton's been a much lesser qb.

Yes, he won a SB MVP but he's still under .500 in the playoffs and aside from possibly the AFC Champ. game that year, hasn't really led his team to victory from the depths of despair when the stakes are high. I'm a Peyton > Brady guy but in Brady's favor are not only the fact that he's won 3 SBs but had to engineer game winning drives late in the 4th qtr in two of them. Montana also led 2 comebacks in the SB and in his 4 SBs threw 11 TDs and ZERO picks. Elway has "The Drive" and "The Drive II", led 3 not-so-great Broncos teams to SB appearances & made a key play late in one of his SB wins.

As far as his command of the offense, its impeccable at a time when offenses & defenses are more complicated than they've ever been. I'll give him the nod there but let's remember, most qbs called there own plays up until roughly 25 or 30 years ago. What does that say for a guy like Otto Graham who was at the helm for 7 championships in a 10 year career?

Manning is an awesome talent & I absolutely love watching him but when I think someone is the GOAT, its because I stacked him up against other greats and found that he's done enough to separate himself from that elite pack. He's definitely in the conversation but I can't hand him the crown, just yet.

Johnny U won back-to-back NFL Championships. . . and while he didn't win a Super Bowl until 1970, he is widely regarded as the inventor of the modern passing game. He drew-up some of his own plays, besides calling all of them. According to my granddad, he created the flea-flicker and/or double-reverse pass writing in the mud in a game.

Even though he wasn't at all fast, he proved that he'd do what he had to (scramble) to make plays. Seeing Peyton do that last year was inspiring me, because he proved that he was a team player and wouldn't just throw the ball away in the interest of not getting sacked, but rather try and make something happen.
