Speaking of Eli and being blinded by the glare of rings, remember a couple of years ago when people were seriously debating Eli vs Peyton, and putting Eli in the HOF?

Eli has 2 rings and has had a rocky road after getting them...reminds me of Kurt Warner....except he only had 1 ring.
I like how 1 guy mentioned elway and you go on a rant about elways playoff performances. Elway did not play well in the SB, but he did play extremely well in the playoffs and his come from behind record might be the best in the NFL.
but this isnt even about that. its about manning and how retards seem to think because he plays well in the regular season that he is the goat. He isnt. he puts up monster regular season numbers in a pass happy era. But he only got to 1 SB because he cant win the big games. And he cant beat New England.
being the goat is about regular season, post season, 4th quarter comebacks, SB wins. Only a few guys fit into that elite group. Montana, Brady, Bradshaw, and even Aikmen, although i wouldnt put him in the elite group...after that there are a greats like Manning, Farve, Elway, and a long list great QBs who can never be called the goat simply because they dont have the SB wins.

Eli Made clutch throws at the most important of moments for 2 Super Bowl wins and kept SF out of the SB for a year and did the thing his brother couldn't = beat Brady...While his brother is more a long term talent. Eli still carries a long term NFL legacy of superior moments in time compared to so many NFL QBs and will one day be in the hall of fame...but course his brother is still better

Already addressed Elway postseason myth. Pretty average in the playoffs, Manning overall has been better.

I agree he has made a ton of clutch throws. Doesn't change the fact he's average QB and shouldn't sniff the HOF. Even if he wins a third SB I wouldn't back of fof that. He isn't an all time great, not even close. He's not even as good as somebody like Philip Rivers, who nobody is putting in the HOF. He's in the same class as a Jay Cutler or Matt Hasselbeck. Nice player. Not a great player. Not even close to HOF caliber.
LOL at saying being the goat is about more than just SB wins then putting Terry Bradshaw in your "elite group." Without 4 rings Bradshaw is completely irrelevent. Anyone putting Bradshaw in their top 3 is the perfect example of someone who is only concerned about SB wins.

Next person comparing Eli to Kurt Warner gets punched in the face. BTW Brady is 0-2 on teams relying on his arm to win. He's a weird guy who's had two different careers. One as a game manager the other as a carry the team QB. Rare to see that. But also highlights how hard it is to win a SB a lonegunman.

LOL average QBs don't have 2 super bowl rings as a starter. You don't make clutch throws that often being average. Quite frankly he has done enough to get in simply because his brother will pull a few strings and make it happen anyway. Its just as much a popularity contest as anything else and the league will want their combined story to live a long time

no because that's a lot of playoff games as well, As far as over all career, Bradshaw would still deserve praise even if they lost all 4 Super Bowls. Tarkenton and Kelly aren't nobodies to the football world, everyone knows they were great and they have no SB win but the have lots of playoffs and season success

P.S.-Manning is about to have 5 MVP awards, which will place him 2 ahead of anyone else ever, and 3 ahead of any active player. It's an award that dilutes the "pass happy era" argument because the best QB of any particular year always has a good shot at winning it.

People over hype performance in the Super Bowl game, and under appreciate everything else. Good or bad.

Joe Montana is 16-7 in the playoffs, threw 45 touchdowns (still think that is a playoff record, btw), and still has a QBR that places him fourth all-time in the playoffs. Only Brady has more #winz in the playoffs at this point.
Len can post singular game stats all he wants, unfortunately, the #statz say that no one was a better playoff QB than Super Joe.
And while you can point to QBs like Troy Aikman and Ben Roethlisberger as QBs who have great playoff success and generate a ton of post season points...they also had some of the best starting field position...unlike Peyton Manning, who was one of the worst...but Montana, too, like, Manning, had pretty shitty starting field position and had to constantly lead scoring drives of 70+ yards. I believe, only Favre had more scoring drives in the playoffs of 70+ yards.
