Meanwhile, the tried and true numbers that are used by Hall of Fame voters for generations hold up as Hall of Fame worthy. Career totals, Super Bowls, playoff performance...Pro Bowl numbers, All-Pro along with All-Decade don't hold up due to volume of QBs in his era...but I'll also assume he'll get a few more Pro Bowls before his career runs out.

Manning's numbers will finish right in the mix a ton of Hall of Famers from his own era, including Roethlisberger, a direct peer. He isn't as accurate, and he throws a ton of picks...but whatever...Marino, Tarkenton, Favre, Blanda and Johnny Unitas threw a shit load of picks. No fucks given. Troy Aikman and Bart Starr never finished atop the league leaders in yards or touchdowns either. Who cares? Nevermind the idea that there are more great QBs in this era of football then ever before...I'm not going to knock a guy because he didn't eclipse Brees, Manning, or Brady...if that is the criteria, no one other than them (and perhaps Rodgers) are making the Hall, which is not going to happen.

His first "awesome" SB year, he had the second lowest comp% of his career, a QB rating of 73, and led the league in INT's.

The second SB season, 2011, was the only very good (not even great) season of his entire career.

He's never had a truly great season, which I would think a Hall of Famer should have several.

Kurt Warner was the best QB in the game for three years, won two MVP's, led the league in yards, comp%, QB rating, TD's, etc numerous times, and was so much more efficient than Eli that his lowest full season comp% is higher than Eli's highest.

You guys are severely overrating Eli's statistics. Take a hard look. They aren't even that good, let alone great or hall of fame worthy.

its a case by case basis like anything else. Marino gets in because he is a regular season king...no Super Bowl but you don't poopoo being 8-10 in 18 playoffs games. Eli gets in for being a Superior post season player plus having a lengthy career.

you can say Eli is average with over all stats but the games he's been in and what he's done in those games is not average.

What numbers are you basing this on? Just yardage and TD totals?

Personally I think Rivers and Big Ben have much more impressive regular season numbers than Eli.
