The management must have told Brett it was getting to the point where he needs to go, and that coupled with the desire to heal, he retired. Yet he healed and then he wanted to play.

Let's not forget that between Favre getting the itch and the Packers telling him that it was too late occurred over a period of a few weeks during which time there were no OTA or meaningful practice snaps taken by Aaron Rodgers.

For what it is worth, I don't think Rodgers was the reason the Packers sucked balls last season but TT still gets bad marks for the horrible way he handled the Favre situation. If the Packers don't look good this year, he is probably on the way out of Green Bay as well.

No, you're not right. Brett was given the opportunity to come back, after Brett had retired and after Aaron Rodger's was told he was the guy. But Brett declined and decided to stay retired. Then he wanted to be released. Then decided to come back to GB right before training camp. He didn't make a definite decision to come back until after trying to force GB to release him. He may have made some inquires, but this was after the free agent period and the draft. He did not make a decision to actually come back until after a lot of GB bashing to the media.

Not BS. If you followed it like you say, you would know he had the chance to come back, before the draft. What was he trying to heal? He didn't have any significant injuries at the end of that season.

If I remember correctly. Up until the point Brett retired, TT gave Brett space to make his own decision and TT let MM keep in contact with Brett. NOWHERE was there any info on TT and MM telling Brett "we don't want you, you need to retire".

Eh like i said before he has yet to retire, he has just taken the summer off like every other player, but since its Favre he has to make it into a soap opera. He needs to just retire, hes ruined how a lot of people viewed him, he is no longer the most "beloved" player ever. Before the Jets and this Viking situation almost everyone loved Favre(outside of Bears, Lions, and Viking fans). But now a lot of people are sick of him, and they see him as nothing more than a "drama queen" whos bent on revenge against the Packers for unknown reasons.

Last year when i heard he wanted to comeback my first thought was, "hey he fight for the starting spot", then when he said no i thought "get him outta here". Favre hurt himself when he was injured against the Cowboys, if Rodgers had not played in that game then i dont think Favre would have been out of Green Bay, but it is what it is.

I just cant wait to see Kampman and the boys go after him.

You just say that because you don't have any sort of attachment to a player of your favorite team like Packer fans do with Brett. The only other fans of teams that could ever go through this, are Colts and Pats fans.

So did Michael Jordan (3 times vs. Favre's 1) but he was always welcomed back as opposed to Brett who was told he could not even compete for the starting job in training camp. Just a couple of months removed from a 13-3 season where he led the team to the NFC championship game that was pretty harsh and all but the people who blindly believe everything that comes out of TT's mouth believe that to be true. I'm guessing that is where you got your take on the situation.

Brett is playing for the same reason that he has always played...because he loves the game. Just like any other superstar does though, he has trouble for walking away from it.

The comparison to Jordan is not the same. Jordan left and didn't go back and forth. When he said he was done, he didn't come back a month later changing his mind. It was a year or AT LEAST a season later.

When has management controlled Brett's decisions? You're a fool to believe that. I'm glad they stood firm on their decision. In the long run its the best for The Green Bay Packers. We have a damn good franchise QB. And we could have jeopardized that letting Brett come back. Not that Aaron wouldn't or couldn't have stayed, but it would have definitely upset him.

I don't think anyone thinks Aaron was at fault for last season. It was a collective poor season. Not to mention the injuries, but injuries are excuses.

The Packers or the Bears for that matter can beat the Vikings with or without Favre. I'm really not that concerned.
