got this today and am addicted to it right now. I am playing on beginner as i slowly learn these controls but finally won my first game. I was villareal and beat some australian league team during the golden goal extra period. Won 1-0 after a ridiculous goal i scored lol.

So just got this today.

Gonna play around with a Newcastle MM to start it off.

Thinking about picking up Akinfeev, Kherzakhov, & Srna since they are stuck on their National Teams.

You wont be able to sign Akinfeev, CSKA are not on Fifa.

im addicted to this game right now lol....definetly will hold me till MW2 comes out next week. Nearly pulled off a big comeback against Intermilan (i was Fulham). Down 3-nil at the 56 mark and scored 2 goals to cut the lead in a 9 minute span. Unfortunatly i let them score another one on me due to my goalie being way out of his box. I ended up losing 4-3

I also played one game online earlier and got my ass kicked. Needless to say i havent gone online ever since

just opened a tournament file and my squad was all screwed up. I reset my formation and then went in to change players ................ all my reserves and a portion of my subs were starting. A couple subs were still in the subs section but the rest of the team was filled with GKs who had ratings of 5 digit numbers, some even preceeded with a negative sign.

Just did some research online and it is obvious this game is equivalent to Madden's 2007 and 2008 with bugs. Especially in Manager Mode.

Or EA could add the Russian league Its not like its a poor league anymore. Most of the latest talent is coming from Russia.

I have stopped playing Fifa and now play Pro Evo with patches.

Yeah, I wasn't quite sure where that comment came from. Arshavin has been a great success, but beyond that, no Russian has been exceptional. Sure, lots is coming over (Pav, Zhirkov, Bilyaetnadov), but hasn't really set the world on fire

You have to look at potential such as that shown by CSKA's Akinfeev, Dzagoev.

When it comes to Zhirkov he has spent time injured this season give him time to fit into the system and Chelsea and I am sure he will progress.

When it comes to the World Cup, they got drawn against Slovenia who you would have thought they could have beaten. But who would have thought Burnley would beat United! You cant really say Russia has no talent just because they lost and didn't qualify for the World Cup.

I'm just saying you can't say "most" of the latest talent is coming from Russia. Akinfeev and Dzagoev look like great prospects. But playing for CSKA is far different than playing in one of the major leagues.

Sure, there has been a delay in getting players out of Russia (teams don't want to sell etc) but of the squad that was called up for Slovenia, only four players play outside Russia. Pav can't even get off the bench at Spurs, Pogrebneyak has been solid at Stuttgart (not a replacement for Gomez yet though), and Bilyaetdenov has started strong at Everton.

But when I look at squads like Germany, Italy, Spain, etc there is far more young talent coming through. Culturally, this will change over time, and Russia may become a power house in player development

Definitely a fun game. This is one of the things that got me into soccer at the beginning

1. If you want Akinfeev available in MM you have to remove him from the Russian national team, then he will show up as a FA. HOWEVER, in order to remove him from the team you need to replace him with another GK....which there are none, so you have to create a Russian GK (I just created an identical Akinfeev except called him Eegor instead so I can always tell them apart. Ratings are identical though.) Also, you will need to be a prestigious, well financed club in order to have a shot at signing him. You want to start as a 1, 2, 2.5 star club....it aint gonna happen.

2. Here is all you need to know about Manager Mode. Or, further more, all you probably wish you didn't have to read. I know it's long and started before the game was out, so perhaps start at back and read forward. Basically, if you are going to do MM, go into it understanding that at any point you could basically be fucked and your MM will need to be restarted. NO FURTHER UPDATES are coming to address it.

Still playing this. I'm Southampton F.C. Lovin it so far. 2 lame things I have come across though:

1. Honestly, there are A LOT of blatantly bad calls by the ref. I don't know if this is planned for realism, but if it is it is terrible. And what I am referring to mostly pertains to who it went out of bounds on and who gets the throw/corner/goal kick. Fouls NOT being called on the CPU but being called on the Human is a noted bug in the game.

2. I'm at the midpoint transfer window opening, first day. I'm looking to sell a couple players to make room to buy a couple to upgrade the squad (I really need to sell them for weekly budget reasons, not total budget)....BUT....the "board won't let me sell/loan any more players because they don't want to lose to much of the core players" WTF is that??? It's my team, let me do WTF I want and can to make it better! How can I add quality players, yet can't sell anyone to free up weekly budget?

I also noticed the lack of fouls being called against the computer. Gets me extremely angry and usually results in me getting a yellow card or red card just so I know the foul deserved to be called.

I don't like that you can't sell/loan players sometimes, but I like it too. I'd more than likely end up selling way to many players and short change my team in the end.

I'll probably fire this up this afternoon. Haven't played in a few days and I'm getting the craving back. Hopefully I can bring up Yeovil Town to the Championship. I sim a lot of games and usually end up losing some should be wins. I focus on playing teams in the top 10 of the table and cup games. My budget for winter signings is very low so I may have to go the scouting route or spend in other areas of the team.


Just lost a cup game because of the bogus non-foul calls on the CPU. Got tripped in the box a few times and nothing gets called. I brush against a guy and knock him off the ball and it's a foul. What's the solution to this?

Basically never use the slide tackle on defense, always use a standing tackle with some "aggression" button.

One more thing. Free kicks get converted WAAAAAY too much by the CPU. If they are anywhere near the box with a FK, it's probably going in unless you time the wall jump right it seems.
