I won the league my first season and then finished 3rd in the second season. Suarez and Sturridge went crazy in the first season. Suarez had over 20 goals and 20 assists in the first season, won every award possible. Then in the second season he had a massive dip in form and Sturridge couldn't score at all. It was really strange to see it happen. That combined with our defense that went from the best in the league to complete shambles didn't help either. Typical second season syndrome I guess.
 
Sturridge couldn't do anything for my first season and was alright in the second. He's finally started to come around though. I'd say Sterling has been the most consistent of the three and also Coutinho is oddly scoring a bunch in my third season. Pepe Reina ended up coming back and beating out Migs for first choice keeper and I just sold Migs after the second season.
 
So here's something else I've been noticing, without the options to determine target men, supply lines, etc. my strikers seem totally incompetent on the pitch. I'm scoring almost wholly from my wingers, which is quite annoying.

It's not something related to league level, at least I don't think. I'm trying out Porto to really get down how the tactics function in this year's version and Jackson Martinez (a class player in Portuguese Premier) seems to stand at the top of the box, regardless of player role.
 
I'm going to get back into this. I'm re-downloading 2011 because I played the shit out of that one. 2012 I played significantly less and 2013 I played a few hours.

EDIT: On second thought I'll just give 13 a go.

Can someone give me a synopsis of what this game is? I'm thinking of buying it next year rather than buying FIFA but not entirely sure what I would be getting.

You manage that club. You set tactics and roles and such, but don't control the individual players. You buy players, build your squad, hire coaches, set training, etc. Its the franchise mode of FIFA but far deep and more detailed.

So an extension of FIFA's manager mode without gameplay? Price/platform?
