First match as manager of Santos is against Barcelona in the CWC. We're going to get thrashed. It's 2 days into the game as well, and no one on my squad is match fit to boot. Meanwhile, it's the middle of the season for Barcelona as the start date is December 2011 for a Brazil game, lol.

I did decide to go with a narrow high box 4-4-2 (4-2-2-2).

The most frustrating thing is telling that player to rarely take long shots after the initial allure of the successful ones wares off, yet they take them just as much. I'm looking at you, Moussa Sissoko.

Same for me in FM 10 with Alberto Aquilani. Dude would just jack up 35 yarders for the hell of it even though he was set at rarely. He literally did not make one shot all year until the Champions League final against Barcelona in extra time, in the 120th minute from probably 40 yards away to win it for us. I still have the video on my phone, it is the pinnacle of my FM career.

I'm a little confused by the league structures in the Brazilian league. So there's the Brazilian Sao Paulo State Championship? Which runs January to April and is 19 games + playoffs. Then there's the like regular league so to speak which is 38 games long? Is that right?

Plus relegation is done on a rolling average points system. It's a very confusing system

Had the funniest thing happen just now. So I'm down 3-2 to Man U and we have a corner. Bale sends it in, it bounces around and Suarez gets tackled down and Hulk puts in. Team starts celebrating but Suarez is called for a dive. He runs up to the ref and is arguing then runs away with his arms out celebrating again and gets a yellow.

No idea if it was a glitch or what but it was hilarious. And of course I said it was a shit call so I'm suspended for a game.

My board just took away half of my transfer funds, knocked down the percentage of revenue from transfers I receive to 45%, and cut my weekly salary budget by 600,000 in the middle of our season. They say our finances are deteriorating despite 3 Premier league titles in a row and a Champions league win.

Fiorentina look like they would be fun. Italy always seems like a fun place to manage. I had a great game with AC Milan way back on FM05, the first version I played. Everytime I start to think seriously about taking a club in Serie A, though, I remember the funky Italian rules on non-EU players and co-ownership. Those things always bug me for some reason.

Yeah Fiorentina's got a lot of good young talent between Jovetic, Babacar, Cerci, Llajic, Agyei, etc.

I'm at the end of October currently. I've been without Gilardino the whole season so far as he picked up an injury in pre-season friendlies, but despite that we're 6th in the table with 4 wins, 2 draws, 2 losses, the losses coming to Lazio and Milan.

Drew 1-1 with schalke, joint top of the group. Beat fulham 3-1 and then followed up with a counter attacking class at Chelsea, winning 3-1 on five shots on target. Helps that turnbull was playing and not th young Belgian who had just won Young Player of the Month

Just won in extra time at Werder Bremen in the second round of the German Cup. Took my first shot in the 116th minute and scored, came from a long ball from my keeper, too. I didn't even try to play so defensive coming in, it just kind of happened.

I have to give my scouts credit for finding Jeffrey Gouweleeuw. I signed the kid thinking he'd be a cheap third defender because I dislike Mike Williamson. He had 3.5 star potential as a bonus, good but not great. Since he came in to the team in Feb/March of last season, he has been the rock. I have him set as a Ball Playing Defender and his composure next to Steven Taylor means he has played the most of all my defensive options

Also, Marcos Rojo is a beast of an LB. Fantastic signing on my part

I've had about 10 mil each year, supplanted by player sales. I have structured a lot of my signings over 48 months, so that's helped. When we were Top 6 in January last season, he also reupped my budget to £10 mil (on top of the £10 mil I spent in the summer) and then another £10 mil this summer.
