Football Manager

Anyway, the focus is now back on qualifying once again for European football. As of April 1st, with 9 matches remaining, we find ourselves in 6th with 52 points from 29 matches. Athletic currently has a 7 point cushion on us for Champions League football, with 59 points also from 29 matches, with Atletico Madrid right behind them at 58 points. Trailing us is Valencia with 45 points, followed by Granada and Sevilla with 39 each.

We do not have the kindest run out in the world, as out of the 9 remaining games, we still have to face Real Madrid, Barcelona, Sevilla, Villareal, and Valencia. The latter 3 are all away from the Rosaleda. Fortunately, the matches against Madrid and Barcelona are home matches. The other 4 on the schedule are Hercules, Sociedad, Villadolid and Racing. I find it pretty much mandatory that we take max points from those 4, and hope for the best with the rest.
 
Dunno if it was just my first game, but my players did not give me the time of day in the team talk. Maybe I was spoiled with Newcastle, because I was able to always get them green. Perhaps it's a language thing. Or perhaps it was updated in the patch

Team talks were one of the things updated in the patch(es). SI noticed it was pretty much way too easy to keep doing the same team talk over and over and getting the same exact response from your team every time and tweaked it.

The last patch actually fixed a number of things, and was the best patch thus far on FM12.
 
Our run out didn't quite go as planned. We actually beat both Real Madrid (1-0), and Barcelona (2-0), but lost to Villareal (3-1) and Valencia (4-1), while picking up very unsatisfying draws against Villadolid and Sociedad. We also recorded victories over Racing, Sevilla, and Hercules.

We ended the season in 6th place, good enough for Europe, albeit the Europa League instead of the Champions League.

Goal-wise for the offseason, I'll be scouring the market, mostly for some defensive upgrades, perhaps a keeper. I'm also actively pursuing Lars Bender to pair with Sven Bender.

I'll be listening to job offers as well as I have no real emotional attachment to Malaga, but it'll have to be a club with history.

Since we're not playing for the Champions League this year I've elected to slash the wage bill as we're not going to be as secure financially if I kept my high earners. Plus, most of these guys are up there in age, with the exception of Di Maria.

It wound up being almost a complete overhaul of the squad. In doing so, we slashed the wage budget down to £614,352 p/w.

Been playing some of my NUFC off and on. Into the knockout round of the Champions League with two games to spare, first place clinched.

The league is tougher. We are playing well, but drawing a lot of games. Just lost 0-1 to Man City on an OG, we probably should have won. Sturridge and Balotelli aren't hitting the net
 
I am also thinking this may be my last year at NUFC. I feel the team has started to tune me out, may need a new challenge depending on what's out there
 
Latest go around with Everton with a transfer update up to like 1/21 or something. Best results I've had so far with an Everton side. No extra transfers in January as I had no money anyway.

What you guys think? I spent 3 years at Alborg in Denmark. 1 League title and qualified for CL. But im done in Denmark. So back to England. Two jobs had my eye. Reading and Portsmouth. I chose Pompey.

But here is where I fucked up. I feel I made way toooo many signings. I made 13 and 9 of them were frees. So I actaully havent spent much money, and the team is doing decent now that it took 2 months fro everyone to settle.

But Villa came calling and I might want to go even though Im not close to finishing anything at Pompey, but I feel the squad was rushed together in a blaze of free players. Would you finish the job, or would you go start fresh?
