I'm not saying that jumping into the back of a truck is a particularly safe decision on his part, I just don't understand the decision to throw the investigation out given the lack of information in this ordeal.

If she's swerving trying to throw him off (which no one has proven that she was or wasn't), I don't see how she's completely out of the woods less than a month after his death....

Except that everything that she's said has so far matched what was described by all eye witnesses. There were no holes in her story.

Actually the entire Newtons argument originally put forth by glenwillet was fail as well so be sure to spread fail that around. I spoke to one of my friends that was a physics major last night (who is a pilot for a living) and he said Newtons only measure linear descent and would not account for being airborne at speed, which would result in both a vector force calculation and the kinetic energy displaced at the time he hit the ground. He's going to run the numbers and get back to me today, he did say that up to a certain point that because he landed at an angle and from such a low height and speed that the actual force with which he hit the ground could actually be less than his body weight up to a certain point. The actual energy or joules displaced onto his body at the rapid rate of deceleration is going to be a bigger factor than the vector force.

So, in essence, we have another conundrum...people can die by colliding with an object with less force than their body weight. So, basically every step we take when we are walking is a brush with death!

The whole point I was making is that when you exit out of a truck going 20 MPH it's not really in your hands whether you are going to live or die, even if you have the "world class athletic ability" of an injured #3 wide receiver.

No, the whole point you were making was being a smart ass about physics and it turns out that you didn't really know what you were talking about in the first place. I took your bait because you didn't even calculate the Newtons formula correctly but it doesn't really matter about the physics because some people die in a 10MPH accident and others survive 70MPH head on collisions.
