You're really saying nothing. Yes he was 36 his last year in Minn... and he fell off. Moss didn't.
You're saying nothing.
I would hope Moss didn't fall off. He was like 24.
And again, Moss falling off or not falling off has nothing to do with Moss "helping" Carter as your comment seemed to imply seeing as Carter falling off at 36 years of age shouldn't be that much of a shock with him being a 36 year old football player.
Your original Moss reference means nothing comparing Carter to Ward because Carter was already a better WR than Ward before Moss even got to Minnesota.
You act like Carter seperated himself so much.
He did.
His peak was far better than Wards. So much so it's not even worth discussing. He had twice as many Pro Bowls, made two all pro teams, lead the league in receieving catagories. etc.
Ward was a classic compiler. Never great. Consistantly good. Good for him I suppose.
Carter, while having runs of being "good to very good" also had a few great seasons that were ridiculously productive(even before Moss).
Ward isn't in Carter's class as far as quality of WR's go.
What hurt Carter the most from the compiling standpoint was his early career drug issues in Philly. Sucks but whatever.
End of the day with each at their peak Carter far surpassed Ward as a player both stats wise but awards wise during those stretches. Ward had longer more "consistant" success but Carter had a long run of consistant success too and coupled with his enormous peak production advantage and the hardware he laps Ward rather easily. Placing Ward over Carter overall as a player smacks of nothing more than homerism.
You can be a fag all you want, and act like I'm saying Ward is a first ballot guy (I didn't and he's not).
Quit being pissy. I never said or implied you thought either.
But to claim Carter is so much better is dumb.
It's actually not. It's not as though I'm the only one in here who has said or implied the same.
You can keep bringing up Moss while ignoring Carter's best season(s) of his prime were all occuring with no Moss on the team.
You're being blatently stupid about this for some reason.
