Brewer's offseason could turn into a disaster really quick here.

They should just go all in on Fielder and make a run the next three years with what they have. Worry about later, later. Stop trading the kids away for a year or two and build the system back up.

They offered 22 million a year to Pujols, and Buehrle got 14.5. Just because Buehrle's contract is a fraction of Pujols for total money, doesn't mean they have room for another contract that big. Loria doesn't care about what money is due in ten years, odds are he won't own the team then, and the GM is even more likely to be gone.
