How's Your Franchise Going?

Had one of these threads on MM and you basically just update and share info about your franchise. Instead of doing nice write-ups and all that in the actual NFL associations forum, you can just talk casually about great games you had, and people you acquired.

So far, I'm 2-1 with the Lions although I got extremely lucky with my second win. It was against the Skins and it went to overtime. We got the ball but Stafford threw a pick, his second of the game. Then the Skins were driving but the ball got tipped and I user picked with Buchanon. He grabbed it off of his shoe laces and took it to the house.

Stafford's doing ok so far, Got about 500 passing yards, 3 tds and 5 picks. He got hurt in second game on the first drive and was out for the game, scary moment, but it was just a quad strain.


So, how is your 'chise going so far?

My only loss was to Minnesota in the first week, it was tied late in the game 17-17, then with 6 seconds left Jackson throws a screen pass to AP and takes it 97 yards to the house. I then proceeded to beat Denver in a really close game (Orton was a beast in the game). And finally I managed to shut out a hobbled Baltimore with 3 of their starting OL out for at least the game.

Transaction-wise, I picked up KGB from free agency to be back up end and OLB, I have just been collecting draft picks for now. I traded 4th string RB Noah Herron for Tampa's 5th rounder and just traded 2nd string LE R. Smith and 2nd rounder for 49er's 1st rounder. I have been shopping Quinn because Derek Anderson is starting for me but it seems like nobody wants him, for anything reasonable to me anyways.

Sidenizzle - Go Lions! 2 more wins than last season AND a winning record lol. Glad Stafford's doing good. What's Megatron's stats look like? I've played online a bit with the Lions and I feel pretty comfortable with Stafford so that should be good.

Megatron has 23 catches and close to 300 yards plus 1 td. I haven't been able to hit him on a deep ball yet, my offensive line doesn't exactly give me loads of time.

i am 2-2 with the jags, but that was just preseason, i was just testing out all the youngings, since i have alot of of them i also signed marvin harrison to a 1 year deal, ill be playing my first game against the colts in a little while

Man I hear that. This is the first year in Madden where the OL's actually play how they do in real life I think. Detroit's is fricken terrible, lol. I'm glad Stafford has a sorta quick release though.

Is the CPU running well? They ran like shit when I had the game.

But the Smith + 3rd rounder for 49ers 1st is kind unrealistic, no way the Niners are trading a 1st for a less than stellar defensive end and a throw in pick. Especially if it has a chance to be a top 10 pick. Maybe you should consider throwing Quinn into a deal for some draft picks, thats what I would do.

I just noticed I typed it wrong, it was actually Smith and my 2nd rounder for their 1st so it's a little more fair and I think I have decided to take advantage of Quinn's A potential to wait until next offseason when his attributes are hopefully better so I can get more out of him plus he is security if DA gets hurt down the road this season.

They're running ok so far. AP tore me up with like 200 yards though. I have it set on 13 for rush defense right now, I also upped the CPU rushing ability a bit. I think I'm giving up around 100-125 yards per game. I am the Lions though and our defensive line is absolutely awful. I also suck at running the ball, Smith is averaging like 3.5 ypc and only 70 yards a game.

Had a good game against the Steelers after they were tearing me up early. Stafford threw a really nice 54 yd td pass to Megatron, right over his shoulder in the back of the endzone. I'm trying to find it on EA Sportsworld right now. I'm 2-3 right now, and I desperately need o-line, d-line, and secondary help.

Also had a scary moment against the Bears. Calvin went down and was out for the game in the first quarter. They had to cart him off the field. Thankfully it was only for that game, but I was immediately praying that Marvin Harrison was still a free agent if Megatron was out for a few weeks.

How does Culpepper play?

He came in against the Vikings for me and played ok. He was like 15-30 with two tds, no picks though. He actually had a nice 4 yard run where he bowled over a safety to get what would end being the winning touchdown. Stafford is playing fine right now though, so Pep is riding the bench.


sidenote- I'm scouting this free safety named Patrick Chewing right now. He's legit, and is named Patrick Chewing, which is awesome.

what difficulty do you guys play on for your chise? im playing on allpro and im pretty rusty and shit and im beating the colts 31-0 at half and im the jags who suck, also they just blitz every down and i just pass it and their wide open lol

I'm 1-2 with the Lions. Beat New Orleans because Drew Brees threw 3 picks and they fumbled at their own 20. Lost to Minny becaues their pass rush dominated me and I threw a couple picks with Stafford. Portis and Betts tore me up against Washington and I really struggled passing (8-21).

I'm using custom settings: 13-13-11-14 for Pass/Run/Pass Def/Run Def.
Minny had just a bit over 100 on me, Washington ran for 174.

Can anybody sack the QB? I have 2 sacks in 3 games despite getting decent pressure. The QB just always gets rid of it.

But in all seriousness, I get Sacks like crazy, one pre-season game with my Colts I got 2 Sacks with Kelvin Hayden, a CB, and even with 59 Overall DE Marcus Howard. My pass D is at a 10 and my run is at a 10.

I didn't draft the guy, just scouted him and thought he had a funny name.

I'm doing ok with sacking the QB. I put Avril at left end and he has 7 sacks through 5 games. Peterson has a couple as well. Use the right stick to spin around the lineman.

I struggled early with Stafford but he had a nice game against the steelers. About 300 passing yards 3 tds and 1 pick. Through 5 games he has 8 tds and 8 picks.
