The Texans, Giants and Broncos all scored less points in the second half against Oakland than they did in the first half. Those teams all blew Oakland out and spent the second half trying to end the game, Do you not know how blowouts work?

Denver's not a great football team.. that's a major stretch, they are however a good football team that's playing very sound fundamental football and that will win you more games than not.

For all the talk about Josh McDaniels, and he's done a great job thus far, I think Mike Nolan should be getting a ton of credit as well because Denver's defense was historically bad last season.. and Nolan has completely changed that unit as a whole.

im not sold on any team yet this early in the season except maybe the Colts. Remember last year when the Bills went 6-0? Then lost all but 1 of the rest of their games? i wouldn't get too excited about any team until the halfway mark. Even my 3-1 Bears i'm not sold on and i'm one of the biggest bears homers out there. Let's see what teams do in November before we pass too much judgment

I still dont believe in the Broncos. last year as a titans fan i couldnt believe after 5-0 all the way up to 10-0 how people kept doubting how good they were. So i understand how you feel broncos fans. I guess they are much like the 2008 titans, they dont seem that great on paper but they get the job done. Well actually the 2008 broncos I didnt understand how they were so bad on defense, they had talented players , they just werent getting it done.


Im loving watching Josh McDaniels coach as well, you can tell he's fired up every game and his players seem to be responding to him well.

Nolan should be credited, but McDaniels has just as much influence on the defensive side of the ball as he does the offense. He's the one that points out areas of attack against the opponents offense, and he has just as much implementation of scheme on a week to week basis.

Boy Genius is making fools out of a lot of people in the NFL.

Its just crazy to me to think that guys like him, Tomlin, and Morris could be coaching guys older than them. It doesnt seem logical, but hey its working.

This is kinda true, i don't know who calls the Denver O, if McDaniels does it or not but their playcalling is far superior to ours. Ron Turner is an idiot. I don't know how we've won so many games with some of the playcalling i've seen him use

Not in this thread but you were bringing up the Bears in the Orton tracking thread while taking lame shots at Denver. So that leads me to believe that part of this does have to do with the Bears (for you).

It was 13-3 at halftime, that's hardly a blowout. And, can it really be considered a "blowout" if the winning team scores only two TD's, regardless of what the other team does?

I'm gonna go out on a really short limb and say you didn't watch that game.

It's McDaniels and it's scheme oriented. I think Chicago has a system that requires the QB to go out there and make plays. Chicago has the QB in Cutler but he needs help around him and doesn't have it right now.

I'm convinced that Orton is a better QB for a system while Cutler is better for an offense like Chicago because he can make plays. It's just unfortunate he doesn't have much help at the skill positions around him right now.

This is what I was saying when the trade went down . McDaniels system doesn't need a qb who can sling it 90yards nor does it need a QB who can "Buy time" with his legs . It's simple little timing patterns .....

Just drop back and get the ball out your hands quickly is what it seems to be unless it's a designed deep ball .

When there was reports that McDaniels asked Cutler to change his qb style a bit and learn to check down and be more sensible with the ball and Cutler took it as an insult it didn't shock me at all . Hes from that Patriot mindset where it's all about limiting turnovers and being efficent on offense .

We all saw what he did with Cassell after week 5 or 6 .... and Orton IS a better qb than Cassell imo

I agree with this, people seem to think its college football or something and Denver is scheduling teams like SW Denver City College. Every team the Broncos have beaten (aside from New England) has either been a divisional opponent, or an opponent the Raiders/Chargers/Chiefs have to play. Those games will go a long way towards winning the AFC West.

It's also hilarious how people were waiting for Denver to get exposed by Dallas and New England, and now people wanna downplay those wins.

How many Hail Marys did Cutler ever complete? What I don't miss were Cutler's red zone turnovers. We have zero this season. I don't know the exact stats from last year but I know that Cutler had thrown a few picks into the end zone by this point last year and also had that play against SD that Hochules gifted us.
