Nevermind the fact that if Denver properly defends a 70 yard desperation heave, the same people being critical of Manning are praising him for a long game winning drive.

The theme of the weekend is awful coaching and defenses that never, ever step up and stop anybody anymore. But :n terms of excitement, you arent topping these four games.

Why do teams always run Tampa 2 when the opposing offense is in desperation situations. I still have visions of Calvin Johnson making a monster catch over Matt Giordano and Rolando McClain. Wouldn't it be more beneficial to run quarters deep or something in situations like those?

I don't get how some people just dismiss the Manning interception in favor of blaming Raheem Moore. In the end the Broncos were in overtime and Manning threw a pass that he had no business throwing in that situation. Brett Favre was killed a few years ago for doing the same thing. I just don't get the logic in saying,"we'll, if Moore defends that pass the game is over!" Who cares? He didn't and the Broncos were in overtime!! Manning screwed up.

OK, so you want to break it down to one play and make it a simplistic game.

3rd and 7 -- Manning has the ball, Manning calls all the shots, he's the "best" QB in the NFL according to many, and he checks down and calls a run to a rookie RB. Denver punts, Ravens get the touchdown to end it. There's no fucking way Tom Brady is calling a run in that situation.

If you want to praise Manning for running the show and being a guru on offense, you have to penalize him when he tucks his tail between his legs and gets scared in crunch time.

Another thing is that it's a team game, so you can't rely on your defense to stop everyone every game. The defense didn't stop the Ravens, so it's now back on Manning to win the game. He didn't, and he gave his defense a horribly short field.

Manning had three turnovers. Like it or not, he is a big reason they lost. Obviously, there are other reasons, too. Bad pass coverage, poor clock management decisions, and many others. But to say Manning and his three turnovers were not a reason (not necessarily THE reason) why they lost is laughable.

He and Trindon Holliday were responsible for all the Broncos points in the game. His TD passes to Moreno and Stokley were a thing of beauty that only he and about 3 other guys in the league make.

His "three turnovers" were the product of a blown PI call and an OT period that should not have been even taking place if not for the secondary blowing yet another huge assignment (where are all the people calling out Champ Bailey for making Torrey Smith look like Randy Moss circa 1998?). The fumble was on him but regardless the game was won if not for one of the worst coverage mistakes I've ever seen.

If Moore knocks that ball down Manning finishes with 260 yards, the only 3 offensive Broncos TDs and only one turnover that was really on him and we're all saying what a great game he had.

And if Knowshon Moreno doesn't go down we aren't having this discussion either FWIW. Much as I hate the guy he's our only back that was effective in both the running game and the passing game. Once he went down the Ravens knew what was coming depending who was in the backfield.

The outside CBs for the Ravens and Ellerbe were the real heroes on the defensive side of the ball. The CBs for taking Demaryius Thomas out of the game and Ellerbe for just kicking the Denver right guard's ass all night with the pressure up the middle.

Every time I saw a replay of Ray Lewis he was getting beat in coverage by Tamme, Dressen and once really badly by Hillman for a 1st down.

Sometimes you catch the D off guard and you're a genius other times you're wrong and it's all your fault... Even though someone else on your team clearly blew the game in regulation despite what would otherwise be considered a damn good QB performance.

Ralaw... that was a play most high school safeties make. Be real. That was a fluke win the same way us beating the Dolphins last year was a fluke win. You snuck out of Denver with the win and have a good shot at the Super Bowl.

Cmon Glen. Were not trying to shit on Peyton. He bossed it on offense at times. But in the playoffs mistakes are magnified 10 fold. And his mistakes really really really hurt the Broncos chances of winning that game.

Because the Manning throw was a bad throw we see the likes of every week.. Nothing super egregious.

The timing and just total disaster of an effort by Moore makes it much worse.

The Ravens weren't even in FG range after the Manning INT, they still needed to get 15. In the Moore situation, the Ravens were planning their vacation until Moore blew the game.

However, lets not pretend that Moore's blunder is what won it for the Ravens. There was a lot of football played after that moment.

The only mistake that cost his team the game was the INT in overtime. Because he did everything he needed to do to win that game in regulation..

Did his play cost us the game in OT? Sure.

Did he do enough in regulation to ensure that said OT shouldn't have existed barring one of the worst coverage mistakes ever? Undoubtedly.
