Speaking of Flacco, when does the narrative turn on him? Second straight title game, played VERY well this weekend to get there, and last year he threw by what all rights was the game winning TD pass, but it was dropped (or was it?).

Isn't it time we admit that this guy is a legitimate QB who can win a title in this league?

OK, so you want to break it down to one play and make it a simplistic game.

3rd and 7 -- Manning has the ball, Manning calls all the shots, he's the "best" QB in the NFL according to many, and he checks down and calls a run to a rookie RB. Denver punts, Ravens get the touchdown to end it. There's no fucking way Tom Brady is calling a run in that situation.

If you want to praise Manning for running the show and being a guru on offense, you have to penalize him when he tucks his tail between his legs and gets scared in crunch time.

Another thing is that it's a team game, so you can't rely on your defense to stop everyone every game. The defense didn't stop the Ravens, so it's now back on Manning to win the game. He didn't, and he gave his defense a horribly short field.

Retarded.

Manning throughout his career has been known for always putting his foot on the gas. See the playoff game where he kept going deep instead of trying to work his way down the field and get a better FG in the Steelers playoff loss. See him waving the punt team off the field. See how many times throughout his career he's lead last second drives when it seemed impossible, both before the first half ended and before the 2nd half ended. One of the biggest criticisms of manning is that he refuses to check down to the run game and takes matters into his own hands too often.

LOL at this weirdo false narrative that Manning tucked his tail in between his legs out of fear. The only way he does that is if his arm was shot. The main issue with this whole Manning is a choker thing is that after a playoff loss, no matter what happens people will try to find a way to morph the story to fit into what they already believe about dude. Now we got people saying Manning is conservative and defers to the run game cause he's scared.

Just like was said earlier in the game, Manning throws on 3rd and 7 and the pass falls incomplete...you're probably first in line pointing to his refusal to hand off being one of the reasons he's a choke artist.

I remember Peyton throwing his o-line under the bus after catching an asswhooping in the playoffs against the Pats one year.

Against the Steelers, you're a Steelers fan you should know this.

Isn't it time we stop trying to label every single quarterback as "legitimate" or not based on their ability to win it all when it's clear that there are plenty of good quarterbacks in this league right now that can win the super bowl. Obviously, guys like Manning, Brady, and Rodgers give the team a much better chance but they don't account for 100% of a team's chances. As cliche as this sounds, the word "can't" should never be used in sports.

But I think it is time for Flacco to get more credit. It seems like he plays really smart in the playoffs. I liked how the Ravens kept feeding Ray Rice the ball throughout the second half and overtime. I wish they would have run one playaction on first down but they slowed the game down and got the Broncos defense tired. That play by Yanda to push Rice past the first down marker was great.

These teams all have great balance. They've all shown that they can throw and run the football pretty well. If a team can make another one-dimensional, more value and pressure is now placed on the QB.

He did a great job keeping the play alive, but made a poor throw, and now he led some sort of awesome comeback, when he really got lucky.

We can do this all day, but I just wanted to point that out. Unless Flacco takes the Ravens to the Super Bowl and wins, I don't think they commit to him long-term.

Of course the Ravens commit to him but he should now his place, it's not like he's a top 5 QB. But he's not Mark Sanchez.

Let's not forget that the special teams gave the Broncos 14 points.

Flaccos TD pass late in the 4th quarter was a desperation hail mary type of pass. Flacco didn't throw a terrible pass, he simply took a chance. There's not much else you can do given the situation he was in. He did get lucky, but if it was a pick I wouldn't have dogged him too much for it.
