I think the list is surprising and not one that I would personally agree with, but sales, popularity and staying power have nothing to do with why I don't personally agree with it.

yeah, i heard u the first 3 times. ...i know you dont agree with why the list is fail, but you do agree that its fail.....but i post some insignificant reasons why i think its fail, and you go on and on about how my opinion is wrong, but the entire time you also think its wrong....just for other reasons......its like im talking to a wall.

Actually, I believe I initially just simply stated my opinion on it without even specifically mentioning you, just sales as a barometer for quality in general. Then you went all apeshit saying "another moronic post from Seth" and proceeded to bore us all about why sales etc...do matter.

My entire point is that there IS no standard. Enjoyment is the standard and that is all relative. A good game, or movie, or anything that exists purely for enjoyment, is all dependent upon the person taking it in, and their opinion of it. Quality is really in the eyes of the beholder. Yet we feel the need as a society to rank this shit and stir up controversy about what is better than what. I don't see a point. Which is why in my initial post, I did exactly what you're asking me to do here: I stated that I don't think that sales are a good way to measure a good game. I would rather measure what is good and what isn't based on my personal enjoyment level, because that's all that fucking matters since other people aren't playing the games for me.

so according to the logic in this thread Wii Play is the greatest game this gen. its the best selling game this gen by a wide margin, and its obviously popular and has staying power cause it was a top ten selling game for a good two years running

I dont think its TOO fucked up right now. MW2 should be higher, but COD4 is a guarntee for 1 or 2, than that takes some of MW2's shine, mainly because COD4 was made from scratch. MW2 was made from COD4.

I like the additions of Dead Rising and NHL 10. I never saw why so many people liked the shitty Orange Box game...I hated that shit.

All good points, except for the Orange Box. I mean, you are entitled to your opinion of course. If you didn't like it that's fine. But I think it's on the list because not only are all the games in the package quality and in some cases revered as classics (Half Life 2) but it was such a great package for the price. The value was/is unprecedented.
