You're always going to have a few people who say the talent around him, made him what he is today.. But if you ask the talent he had/has, like Holt, Faulk, Fitzgerald, they give credit where credit is due.. all very talented players, but without Kurt Warner, neither one of them would have sniffed a superbowl. He took two of the worst teams in sports history, and lead them to the superbowl. You can use the 9-7 record against him, the division he played in, but he did that with the worst rushing team in the NFL, and then what he did after, against three teams most of you had him losing to, speaks for itself.

A great player and a great leader makes the players around him that much better.

Kurt Warner is the true definition of a great leader. I actually don't see Warner being all that skilled, which is why his story is so great.. He did it the way it's supposed to be done - football intelligence.

That being said, I used to hate Warner when he was a Ram, mainly cuz he was in my division but have grown to respect him and even root for him now as a Cardinal, because even though they're in the same division they've been so bad for so long it is nice to see them finally get success. Plus by the time the 49ers are ready to contend again anyway he'll be retired so haha.

I just feel that if Trent Green would have never gotten hurt he would have been putting up massive numbers as well.

I don't have the resources right now but Trent Green put up amazing numbers the whole time he was in K.C.

Multiple 4,000 yard seasons. Multiple 90+ QB Rating Seasons. With ALOT less talent.

I honestly believe that 90% of the Starting QBs in the league last year could of had Warners numbers if they were AZs QB.

He's a good QB in my eyes with a lot of luck on his side.

Would I Vote him into the HoF? No. His career as a Starting QB just isn't long enough.

They weren't going to put Irvin in the hall cuz he only had 9 full seasons under his belt.
Similar story for Derrick Thomas as well.

I'd put Warner in the Hall of Really Good, and throw a banner in St Louis stadium. Maybe retire his number for St Louis or put him in there HoF. But unless this guy wins a SB in AZ or plays outstanding for another 4 years its a No in Canton for me.

Trent Green was 2-3 as a starter in 2000 in place of an injured Warner. Rams went 8-3 that year when Warner started.

Tony Gonzalez is going to the HOF and might be the best TE of all time. Priest Holmes was the best player in football for three years, and is a bordeline HOF'er. KC also had one of the best offensive lines ever assembled during those years.

I don't even know why i'm debating this trash. He's gone to three SB's, won two MVP's, has a SB MVP, and throws for 300 yards in nearly half the games he starts (nobody else is even close). He's one of the most accurate passers of all time, and is clearly a winning player who has won many big games. He's not only a lock HOF'er, but one of the best of all time.

Yeah the one and only season he didn't have HoF WRs he threw 6tds and 4ints. thats ok. but that was also in 9 starts and 10 total games. He also fumbled 12 times that year and got sacked 39 times.

Davis was exceptional and obviously one of the best to ever play. He won 2 SBs broke records and rushed for 2000 yards.But he only did it for 4 -5 years.... so I believe he shouldn't be Hof either

So let me see if I have this straight...his 9 starts with the Giants, keeping the seat warm for Eli, tell the story of his career, yet everything else he has accomplished can be simplified and chalked up to the WR's he played with.

And instead of giving the guy credit for bouncing back from a couple of years of injuries and backing up (when alot of guys would have retired), and re establishing himself as an elite QB, you hold it against him.

And I don't get this idea that he's only been a "full time starter" for 3 years. He's started the majority of his teams games in 7 seasons.

-He has a playoff record of 8-3, and had led two teams to three SB's.

-He has three 4,000 yard passing seasons

-He has the second highest passer rating of all time

-He's led the league in no less than 27 significant passing categories during his career

-He's won 2 MVP's

Not bad for a guy who you seem to think never plays.

I looked up Warner's stats over his career at the end of last year during a discussion on MM. He had some pretty mediocre years, so I don't have him automatically going to the HOF. He's a bubble guy for me. I haven't quite made up my mind yet (not that it matters). I do think he has been one of the better QB's in his era. And one of the most fortunate with the guys he's had to throw the ball to. But you just can't hold that against him.

Warner wasn't as good as any of those QB's by the way...at least over an entire career.
