This is retarded because it was obvious to Lugo himself that he got tagged. The ump admitted he missed the call. Replay showed the tag being applied.
How has this even turned into a discussion?
You're either trolling or have gone braindead.
That just isn't true. I'm not going to even argue that because that didn't happen.
Also, how does the result at the end of the season make it any worse of the call? If the Pirates finish a half game out, will the replay magically change and make it look like Lugo was only halfway between third and home when he was tagged so it is 100% clear that the call was blown?
Your logic is as retarded as ram29jackson.
We've all gotten to see the replay several times. The ump didn't get that.

On the third replay, it doesn't look like he tagged him at all. It looks like he missed the tag completely. On the first two, I can't tell. I see no distortion on Lugo's stripe on his pants. Which is exactly where the tag should have landed.
BTW, keep watching and you'll see the Galarraga near perfect game. The baserunner is three feet away from first base when Galarrage catches the ball and puts his foot on first. Not even close.
The end result makes a big difference. Whats the difference between Jeffrey Maier stealing a ball from Tony Tarasco and it happening in a random game in the regular season? The playoffs.
There have been 18 perfect games in baseball. 18. Guarantee that someone has been thrown out at the plate to end a game more than that.
If the Pirates finish a half game out, this game would have made the difference. That play would have made the difference (maybe ... who's to say the next Atlanta batter didn't hit a homerun?).
Lugo steps on home plate when stands up. What the hell does a player's reaction have to do with anything? I guess on check swings and fly balls, the ump should just watch the player? Well, he doesn't look like he swung so I guess its a no swing. Well, he's acting like he caught the ball, so I guess he did.
I don't care about a player's reaction. I care about what happened on the play.
I do, however, have to wonder why McKenry would go with a sweep tag there when the guy is clearly nailed by like 10 feet. Don't give the umpire any semblance of doubt and tag the guy. No reason to do a sweep tag.
This. No more swipe tags. Leave a bruise.
BTW, this call isn't even in the top 3 of worst blown calls.
