Except Pitt's schedule is so bad, that they would not go to the NCAA Tournament with 20 wins.
Let's assume Pitt runs the gauntlet and manages to win those five rugged non league games remaining, and enter Big East play 12-1. 8-10 in the Big East is not getting them in, because 20-11 isn't very impressive when the resume is completely empty like Pitt's:
-Best non conference win: Detroit, who is having a down year? Umm...OT win vs Oakland? LOL.
-Best non conference road win: N/A. Pitt didn't play a single non conference road game!
Nobody cares that Pitt is going to be 12-1, because they've played ONE decent opponent, and lost that game. They would have been better off playing 2 or 3 other good teams, splitting the games, and heading into the Big East 11-2 or 10-3. At least they'd have some sort of resume to point to. Now they have nothing.

My issue is that these North Florida schools aren't even decent Division II basketball schools...they are the worst of the worst.
Lulz, if Pitt goes 8-10 with home and homes against DePaul and Nova, they don't deserve a bid.

48 shot attempts, 0 free throws. Illinois had 49 shot attempts against Gonzaga, 24 were 3 pters, yet they shot 17 free throws.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess you didn't watch the game? If you had it would've been pretty obvious why they had 0 free throws. NF had no penetration, settled for awful jump shots, and were killed on the boards, it's not like Pitt had 0 fouls on the game.
